Deshaun Watson

CLE Quarterback #4

Deshaun Watson completed 21-of-37 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns and rushed four times for 26 yards in the Browns’ 21-15, Week 3 loss to the Giants.

Watson was sacked eight times in this one. He failed to eclipse 200 passing yards for the third straight week. The two touchdowns to Amari Cooper saved his fantasy performance and passer rating, but this was another subpar performance for Watson. The numbers are mostly bad and he’s failing the eye test too. Watson’s performances leave us wondering if he’s the worst starting quarterback in the NFL this side of Will Levis. He’s nothing more than a low-end QB2 at Las Vegas in Week 4.
Justin Jefferson

MIN Wide Receiver #18

Justin Jefferson caught 6-of-8 targets for 81 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings’ Week 3 win against the Texans.

Game script was once again unfriendly to Jefferson, who roasted the Houston secondary in the first half before the vikings took their foot off the gas with a big lead in the second half. Jefferson had two drops on the day and generally seemed off with QB Sam Darnold. Jefferson will face off against a tough Green Bay secondary in Week 4.
Daniel Jones

NYG Quarterback #8

Daniel Jones completed 24-of-34 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns in the Giants’ 21-15 victory over the Browns in Week 3.

New York’s most important players stepped up when they needed them most. On offense, that was Daniel Jones and Malik Nabers. Jones hit Nabers for two touchdowns in the second quarter. The second Nabers touchdown gave the Giants a 21-7 lead that they wouldn’t relinquish. Their connection cooled in the second half as the Giants couldn’t score and Nabers had only 12 yards, but New York was still able to hold on for the victory. The Giants have rattled off back-to-back wins since Jones found himself on the hot seat after the Week 1 loss. Jones is still just a QB2 heading into a short week with a primetime matchup against the Cowboys on Thursday night in Week 4.
Justin Herbert

LAC Quarterback #10

Justin Herbert (ankle) was seen wearing a walking boot following the Chargers’ Week 3 loss to the Steelers.

Herbert exited in the third quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Steelers and didn’t return to the field. While the severity of his ankle injury is unknown at this time, we know he entered the week already dealing with the injury, and a re-aggravation of the injury doesn’t seem great for his Week 4 availability. There’s still plenty of time to see how things unfold during a week of practice, but it wouldn’t be surprising if the Chargers opted not to risk his long-term health in next week’s divisional matchup against the Chiefs.
C.J. Stroud

HOU Quarterback #7

C.J. Stroud completed 20-of-31 attempts for 215 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the Texans’ Week 3 loss against the Vikings, adding three rushes for 12 yards.

Stroud, like most quarterbacks to face Brian Flores’ maddening Vikings defense, was confused and off balance throughout. Stroud took four sacks and was pleasured on almost every drop back before the Vikings took a commanding lead in the second half. Stroud appeared to tweak his back on a fourth quarter sack but remained in the game. Week 3 marks the second straight game in which Stroud has struggled. He’ll look to bounce back in Week 4 against the Jaguars.
Rome Odunze

CHI Wide Receiver #15

Rome Odunze caught 6-of-11 targets for 112 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ Week 3 loss to the Colts.

The No. 9 overall pick entered the proceedings with just three catches for 44 yards, but cleared that total on his first reception of the game by roasting Nick Cross down the left sideline. He ended up leading the Bears in receiving as Caleb Williams finally made some semblance of progress as an NFL passer. That did not include on his picks, one of which was a super late sideline ball to Odunze. For his score, Odunze got open 1-on-1 in the end zone and Williams hit him with a beautiful ball. It was major progress for both heading into a soft Week 4 matchup with the Rams. We’ll have Odunze in the top 36 for that one, especially if Keenan Allen (heel) remains sidelined.
Aaron Jones

MIN Running Back #33

Aaron Jones had 19 rushes for 102 yards in the Vikings’ Week 3 win against the Texans, adding five catches for 46 yards and a touchdown.

The Vikings bullied the Texans front seven from start to finish and Jones ripped off a few long scampers, including a 39-yarder in the fourth quarter with the Vikings up multiple scores. He appeared unaffected by the hip injury he picked up in Week 2. Unlike last week, there was no backfield split in Week 3, with Jones seeing 24 touches to Ty Chandler’s seven. The electric Jones will be a central part of the high-powered Minnesota offensive attack for as long as he’s healthy. He’ll face his former team, the Packers, in Week 4.
Sam Darnold

MIN Quarterback #14

Sam Darnold completed 17-of-28 attempts for 181 yards and four touchdowns in the Vikings’ Week 3 win against the Texans.

That’s eight touchdown passes in three games for Darnold in Minnesota’s well-designed Kevin O’Connell offense, which on Sunday dissected a tough Houston defense. Darnold connected with Justin Jefferson for an early score, and also hit Aaron Jones and Jalen Nailor for touchdowns before connecting with TE Johnny Mundt for the game-sealing score. Darnold was precise throughout, and played through a minor knee injury he picked up in the second half. That injury will be worth monitoring before the Vikings’ Week 4 game against the Packers.
DeVonta Smith

PHI Wide Receiver #6

Eagles ruled out WR DeVonta Smith (concussion) for the remainder of Week 3 against the Saints.

Smith took a hard hit to the upper back in the fourth quarter and immediately left the game. His helmet popped off and he stayed on the field for a while before walking off with trainers. He left for the locker room after a short stay in the medical tent. With A.J. Brown inactive for this game and Britain Covey ruled out because of a shoulder injury, the Eagles are down to Johnny Wilson, Parris Campbell, and Jahan Dotson as their top three receivers. Expect Philly to feed Saquon Barkley as they cling to a one-point lead over the Saints late in the fourth quarter.
Justin Herbert

LAC Quarterback #10

Justin Herbert (ankle) exited in the third quarter of Week 3’s contest against the Steelers.

Herbert was questionable with an ankle injury heading into the day, but was playing well through the injury before being knocked from the game late in the third quarter. After making his way to the bench, Herbert was later spotted heading to the blue medical tent. We’ll see if he’s able to make his way back for this one. If not, it will be Taylor Heinicke the rest of the way.
