Watson was carted off after suffering a non-contact right leg injury in the second quarter of the Browns’ Week 7 game against the Bengals. The injury had the characteristics of an Achilles injury and Watson was subsequently ruled out for the rest of the game. The Athletic’s Jeff Howe reports Watson will undergo further testing to confirm the torn Achilles, but his season is likely over. He ends his 2024 completing 61.3 percent of his passes for five touchdowns, three interceptions, and a career-low 5.1 yards per attempt before completing 15-of-17 passes for 128 yards in Week 7. Dorian Thompson-Robinson stepped in for Watson in Week 7 with Jameis Winston inactive, but Winston will be in the mix to start moving forward. The Browns are on the hook for the rest of Watson’s contract, currently in year three of his fully guaranteed five-year, $230 million contract; he has now played exactly six full games in each year of his deal. How the Browns move forward with their quarterback situation remains to be seen, but their struggling offense will now get different looks with Watson out.
  • SF Wide Receiver #15
Jennings will sit against the Chiefs while rookie WR Ricky Pearsall make his NFL debut after sustaining a gunshot to the upper body just before the regular season. A solid performance from Pearsall could endanger Jennings’ playing time going forward.
  • LAR Wide Receiver #10
Kupp practiced in a limited capacity all week but the team opted to play things safely, giving the star wide receiver extra time to rehab his injured ankle. Ian Rapoport also reported that teams have begun calling the Rams to see if Kupp is available via trade. The Rams declared QB Stetson Bennett, CB Tre White, RB Cody Schrader, DE Jonah Williams and DE Desjuan Johnson inactive.
  • CLE Quarterback #4
Watson’s right leg buckled in the second quarter of the Browns’ Week 7 game against the Bengals, having the characteristics of a potential Achilles injury. The Browns were driving into Bengals territory at the time of injury, with Watson exiting having completed 15-of-17 passes for 128 yards. The Browns deactivated Jameis Winston for the game, making Dorian Thompson-Robinson the backup for the day. Thompson-Robinson will take on the rest of the game for Week 7, but Winston will be back in the mix to start should Watson miss extended time.
  • DET Running Back #5
Montgomery’s knee got tangled up in a pile of bodies on a short carry in the first quarter. He limped off the field and was listed as questionable to return. After a few minutes on the stationary bike, Montgomery got back on the field in the second quarte. Expect the Lions to limit his carries for the remainder of this game.
  • CLE Running Back #24
Chubb’s return has been anticipated all week, entering the weekend questionable. The Browns activated him off the PUP list and he is officially set to return to play after suffering a severe left knee injury in Week 2 last season. Chubb had four straight seasons of 1,000 rushing yards prior to last season and has been a perennial fantasy RB1 when healthy. He will have some opportunity in the run game Week 7 with Jerome Ford (hamstring) out. Expect him to be eased back into play for his first game in 13 months, putting him in the RB3 mix against the Bengals.
  • MIN Running Back #33
Jones returned to practice on Thursday. He was listed as questionable after another limited session on Friday and is good to go now. In a potential shootout with Detroit, he will rank as a high-risk RB2. Ty Chandler could still see some extra touches to help keep Jones fresh, making him a viable FLEX play for Week 7. Inactive for the Vikings are LB Blake Cashman, DL Levi Drake Rodriguez, RB Myles Gaskin, CB Dwight McGlothern, OT Walter Rouse, and QB Brett Rypien.
  • SEA Running Back #9
Added to the injury report on Saturday with an illness, Walker will suit up against Atlanta. Walker has seen strong pass game usage, averaging six targets per game in 2024. Seahawks declared CB Tre Brown, CB Riq Woolen, LB Trevis Gipson, G Sataoa Laumea, T Stone Forsythe, DT Cameron Young, and DT Myles Adams inactive for Week 7. Without Woolen and Brown, the Seahawks defense should have a tough time stopping Kirk Cousins and the Falcons pass catchers.
  • IND Wide Receiver #1
As are Alec Pierce and Michael Pittman after the Colts pretended their entire receiver corps was questionable for Anthony Richardson’s return under center. Richardson is the story, as his presence largely renders Pittman and Pierce irrelevant, while Downs is a volatile option on the WR3/4 borderline. All three still have upside. The downside is just so prevalent. Inactive for the Colts are RB Jonathan Taylor, EDGE Genard Avery, WR Anthony Gould, QB Sam Ehlinger, CB Chris Lammons, C Danny Pinter and LB E.J. Speed.
  • MIN Running Back #33
Jones got banged up before the Vikings’ Week 6 bye and missed Wednesday’s practice. He returned for two limited sessions to close the week before being listed as questionable. He could have his reps limited because of the injury, but Jones remains the top back on a top-notch offense heading into a potential shootout with the Lions. He will stick in the RB2 ranks for Week 7 while Ty Chandler is a low-floor FLEX play with Jones active.
