  • PHI Tight End #88
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
McLane’s knee injury was not believed to be “serious” per initial reports, but now McLane is reporting that Goedert’s injury “will likely sideline him on a week-to-week basis.” For now, we’ll assume Goedert will be questionable for Week 14’s game against the Panthers, but that could change once we get a look at the team’s practice report later in the week. If Goedert is unable to play in Week 14, Grant Calcaterra would draw the start in his absence.
  • NYG Defensive Tackle #97
In theory, Lawrence could return in Week 18 if the club wanted. But with nothing to play for, and Adam Schefter literally saying it is “season-ending,” we’ll close up the ledger for Lawrence’s 2024 season. Lawrence finished with an 89.9 PFF grade and has been the best pass rusher at his position — perhaps the only player of his size period capable of doing what he does as a rusher — as he ends the year with 10 sacks in 551 snaps. Lawrence’s cap number balloons to $24.13 million next year. There aren’t many non-quarterbacks we’d say can carry that number and be worth it, but Lawrence is one of them.
  • BAL Wide Receiver #18
This comes a day after Harbaugh declined to comment on Johnson’s availability immediately after the loss when he said, “I’m not really ready to comment on that right now. I will be, but I don’t have enough information right now.” Whatever “information” Harbaugh needs is a mystery to most, but maybe he’ll gather that intel during the team’s Week 14 bye. Since being acquired by the Ravens’ at the trade deadline, Johnson has run 19 routes while playing on 39 offensive snaps. Johnson didn’t see the field in Sunday’s loss despite Rashod Bateman exiting early with a knee injury. Bateman’s injury isn’t believed to be long-term, but it will be interesting to see if Johnson sees an increase in playing time should Bateman miss a game or two.
  • BAL Wide Receiver #7
The Ravens will head into their Week 14 bye, so it is possible that Bateman misses no additional time at all if this optimistic report from their head coach is correct. Bateman being an unreliable target in a Ravens passing game that seems to have a new focal point every week means you could probably sneak him through the waiver wire in most shallow leagues if you need the roster spot this week.
  • NYJ Cornerback #1
According to Fowler, the Jets should know more about the severity of Gardner’s injury later in the week and will wait to see how he responds to treatment. The third-year corner has missed just one game in his career and has earned a PFF coverage grade of 74.4 while playing on 407 coverage snaps. Gardner had one of his best games of the season in the Jets’ Week 13 loss to the Colts. His absence in Week 14 would be good for Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins’ passing game.
  • JAX Quarterback #16
He also responded to a question about shutting Lawrence down for the season by saying no decisions have been made yet, and that he “wants to send positive message to team that we’re still fighting.” Mac Jones would receive yet another start if Lawrence fails to clear protocol by Sunday. It seems like the Jaguars are at least giving some thought to shutting Lawrence down, which would make sense as they’re all but mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.
  • TB Quarterback #6
We don’t quite know when Mayfield suffered his injury, as the veteran quarterback was cleated by a defender on one play and had his ankle twisted on another in Sunday’s win over the Buccaneers’ win over the Panthers. Regardless, Mayfield was able to finish the game and appears to be on early track to play in Week 14 against the Raiders. Bowles said he’s unsure how much Mayfield will practice this week, so it’s possible the team gives him some added rest in what will be a pivotal Week 14 matchup for the 6-6 Buccaneers.
  • NO Tight End #7
It’s a torn ACL for Hill, who had to be carted off the field in Sunday’s loss to the Rams. The Saints will be without their do-it-all player for their final five games of the season. Hill didn’t do much as a pass this season, throwing for just 21 yards and one interception, but does finish the year with a rushing line of 39-279-6, and a receiving line of 23-187-0. Set to turn 35 before the start of next season, Hill is under contract for one more year and will likely have his deal restructured before the start of next season when the Saints do their annual salary cap gymnastics.
  • IND Wide Receiver #1
Steichen said center Ryan Kelly has a “good chance” to return after the team’s bye week but was non-committal on Downs’ return. The second-year receiver missed Sunday’s game against the Patriots due to a shoulder injury he suffered in Week 12, but may need more time to recover before returning to the field. The Colts’ passing game was slowed by the absence of Downs, as their wide receivers combined to catch just seven passes for 58 yards and a touchdown on 15 targets. Alec Pierce wound up leading the team in snaps from the slot, with eight, but that’s not where he’s been best utilized over his career. Downs’ return in Week 15 would be a welcomed one as the Colts make a postseason push. We’ll see how things look at the start of next week.
  • TB Running Back #7
Irving injured his hip during a kickoff return and, according to Buccaneers beat writer Rick Stroud, “labored to walk to the locker room after the game.” Irving managed to finish out the game, rushing 25 times for 152 yards — both season highs — while also finding the end zone for the third consecutive game. This may be something that lands Irving on the team’s injury report this week, but it doesn’t sound like he’s at risk of missing Week 14’s game against the Raiders.
