  • SF Quarterback #17
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
Brock Purdy missed Friday’s practice and is out with a shoulder injury for Week 12. Allen’s last start came for the Bengals in 2021. He entered the lineup for a meaningless Week 18 game and threw for 136 yards and a touchdown on 29 attempts. Kyle Shanahan has had the magic touch when it comes to squeezing every last ounce of efficiency out of backup quarterbacks and that will be put to the test versus Green Bay. Allen is worth stashing in Superflex leagues but is barely on the QB2 radar in his first start of the year.
  • LV Running Back #22
Zamir White is also doubtful, meaning Ameer Abdullah should draw the start. Abdullah hasn’t seen double-digit carries since 2017, so we should get plenty of Dylan Laube touches as well. As underdogs to a stout Denver defense, this isn’t a great spot for either running back, but there are touches up for grabs. Abdullah enters the weekend as a low-end RB3 while Laube is a dart-throw RB4.
  • TB Wide Receiver #13
Evans’ Week 12 status is unclear. He practiced in full on Thursday but was limited both on Wednesday and Friday. HC Todd Bowles told reporters early on Friday afternoon, “we’ll play him as long as he’s healthy and fresh. If he needs to be in there, he’ll be in there, but we’ll get him out when we have to.” Fantasy managers should tentatively plan on Evans playing this weekend but he appears to be in the final stages of his rehabilitation schedule. His injury notably includes two strains, in different locations, in the same hamstring muscle.
  • MIN Quarterback #14
Darnold was on the injury report with a hand injury last week and a foot issue this time around, though neither injury has been a legimtiat4e threat to his gameday availability. The Vikings may continue to limit his practice reps down the stretch as they prepare for a playoff run. Good to go for Week 12, Darnold is on the QB1/2 border for a low-scoring affair with the Bears.
  • KC Running Back #10
Fantasy managers will get at least one more week of Kareem Hunt as the Chiefs’ bell cow back. The Chiefs get the Panthers on Sunday and then face the Raiders in Week 13 on Black Friday. Reid noted on Friday that Hunt is healthy enough to play but that, on the recommendation of the coaches and trainers, they will give him a few more days before activating him. Once active, Pacheco will be a borderline RB1/RB2 against the Raiders, but it’ll be Hunt’s backfield for at least one more week.
  • TEN Running Back #2
Spears suffered the concussion in Week 11 and has yet to practice, meaning he remains in the early stages of the league’s concussion protocols. Tony Pollard averaged 24 touches per game in Spears’ previous three absences. If the Titans’ offense wasn’t so stagnant, Pollard would be in line for an RB1 ranking based on his immense workload. Instead, he will sit at the top of the volume-based RB2 cohort for Week 12.
  • TEN Cornerback #38
Sneed has been dealing with the quad issue for weeks with seemingly no progress being made. Head coach Brian Callahan noted today that the injury is taking longer to heal than the team initially thought. Sneed hasn’t played since Week 6 and is now out until at least Week 15. The Titans traded for Sneed and then signed him to a four-year deal in the offseason, but his first year in Tennessee is shaping up as a lost season.
  • CAR Wide Receiver #18
Coker was a surprise DNP on Friday. The rookie was added to the injury report with a quad injury and is officially questionable for Week 12’s game against the Chiefs. Given the late timing of his injury, there’s a good chance Coker is trending on the wrong side of being active this Sunday. Fantasy managers looking to start him will want to check the Panthers’ inactives when they’re released 90 minutes before kickoff.
  • CAR Running Back #24
Brooks will make his long-awaited debut on Sunday against the Chiefs. Once thought to have a chance to be ready for Week 1, the rookie has spent nearly a year recovering from a torn ACL he suffered last November while playing with the Texans Longhorns. It goes without saying that Brooks will eat into Chuba Hubbard’s workload going forward, but for now, we can only speculate on how much work he’ll see early on and how fast his role will grow. Like Hubbard, Brooks is a do-it-all back who can help the Panthers on all three downs. Fantasy managers eager to start Brooks should give it at least one week. If you’re forced to start him due to a brutal bye week, expectations should be tempered.
  • PHI Wide Receiver #6
Smith was unable to get on the practice field this week. Regarding his Week 12 availability, head coach Nick Sirianni said earlier that the team would see how he feels by the end of the day, but it’s hard to imagine Smith suiting up for Sunday’s game against the Rams after missing a full week of practice. He has been playing through this injury for the last few weeks, but may have finally pushed things too far by playing in Week 11. If he cannot play, the Eagles could be looking at Jahan Dotson serving as their WR2 opposite A.J. Brown, giving him some WR4/WR5 utility in deeper leagues.
