  • IND Quarterback #15

In other words, this is not a temporary benching for Anthony Richardson, who has struggled mightily throughout his second pro season, with only thee QBs posting a lower drop back success rate. Steichen said the team would not give up on Richardson, though it appears his 2024 season is over unless Flacco misses time. Asked if Richardson would ever again start for the Colts, Steichen said, “That would be great. We’ll see.” Flacco will provide a major boost to everyone in the Indy offense. An NFL personnel evaluator told The Athletic this week that the Colts would need to take a long-term approach to developing Richardson, 22. “It’s really hard to develop a quarterback who is so far behind in learning to play the position that he’s in frantic mode all the time,” the personnel evaluator said. “This kid is truly a project more than a developmental player.”
  • JAX Running Back #1
Etienne has missed the past two games and the team doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to rush him back with far superior back Tank Bigsby working as the lead back. Etienne, averaging 4.1 yards per carry on 56 rushes this season, has been rumored to be a trade candidate. Perhaps the Jaguars want to showcase him this week against the Eagles before dealing away the third-year running back.
  • GB Quarterback #10
Rapoport said an MRI on Love’s injured groin did not reveal a long-term injury. Love, Rapoport, said, would not have to be 100 percent recovered to suit up for an important Week 9 game against division rival Detroit. If Love is able to practice by Friday, he should be good to go against the Lions. If not, Malik Willis — who has been excellent as the backup for the oft-injured Love — would get another start.
  • NYJ Quarterback #8
Ulbrich said he wasn’t yet considering resting Rodgers for a week as he struggles through various lower body injuries. Rodgers said he’s addressing his knee and hamstring woes with cayenne pepper and water. After the Jets’ stunning Week 7 loss to New England, Patriots defenders commented on the 40-year-old Rodgers’ lack of mobility. Rodgers, who has the NFL’s fourth lowest drop back success rate in 2024, acknowledged he was hampered by his lower body ailments but hoped to get back to full strength later in the season. Tyrod Taylor is the Jets’ backup quarterback.
  • MIN Tackle #74
Robinson is a former second-round pick of the Jaguars, playing in and starting 91 games in Jacksonville over the past eight seasons. He was benched in favor of Walker Little for the Jaguars’ Week 8 game and has been dealt to the Vikings, who are in need of a left tackle after Christian Darrisaw suffered a season-ending ACL tear last week. Though Robinson had been struggling this season, he offers reinforcement at left tackle as the 5-2 Vikings try to stay in contention. Robinson is in the last year of his contract and set to hit free agency at the end of the season.
  • BAL Wide Receiver #5
Sure didn’t seem like a huge cost for the Ravens, though it does shake up their receiver room and make it hard to trust for fantasy purposes. Zay Flowers is hurt the most by the acquisition, as he was (by target volume) the uncontested No. 1 wideout. He likely slides down to the WR3/FLEX borderline due to the uncertainty. Rashod Bateman becomes a touchdown-or-bust proposition. For Carolina, Xavier Legette pushes into the FLEX conversation on target volume despite being on a bad passing offense. Jalen Coker also is rosterable in deeper leagues. It’s worth holding onto Diontae Johnson for the moment, but he may be droppable in most leagues if he’s not a big part of the Ravens offense after a week or two.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #1
That is, unfortunately, what it looked like on Sunday after Diggs limped off the NRG Stadium turf. Diggs will be a free agent after the season and will probably be looked at as a reclamation project as a 31-year-old rehabbing a torn ACL. For the Texans currently, Tank Dell will push into a more featured role in the passing game and will likely remain a fantasy WR2/3 even when Nico Collins comes back from a hamstring injury that has him on injured reserve. Dalton Schultz has also pushed higher in the target pecking order even if the lines aren’t impressive and will become a borderline TE1 until Collins returns. Robert Woods will likely be the main wideout, but splitting snaps with Xavier Hutchinson and John Metchie III means you likely can’t trust a Houston WR2/3 until proven otherwise.
  • IND Quarterback #5
Without much insight into how long this decision will last, it’s hard to know how much to make of it. Flacco and the Colts will head into Week 9’s game against the Vikings in a tough fantasy spot. Flacco should raise the fantasy floors of most of the Indianapolis pass-catchers as far as catchable targets, but losing Richardson may lose them some ceiling. Flacco will be a borderline QB2 in Week 9. Richardson should probably be regarded as a threat to get his job back, especially if/when the Colts are eliminated from playoff contention.
  • DAL Quarterback #4
Jones during his Tuesday radio interview said Prescott, who has 10 rushes for 24 yards and a touchdown this season, is still capable of gaining yards with his legs. But the team would rather Prescott remain a pocket passer and avoid injury as a runner in the open field. Prescott once regularly rushed for around 300 yards and multiple touchdowns per season. At 31, he is strictly a pocket passer, limiting his fantasy football upside.
  • TB Wide Receiver #14
“I mean, I think that’s best-case scenario, right? Like absolute best case. For all involved. Everything lines up. That’s what you kind of aim for,” Godwin said Monday night. He was carted off the field in Week 7 after suffering a dislocated ankle in the fourth quarter of a loss to the Ravens. He had 50 receptions through seven games and was trending toward one of the best seasons of his NFL career. It sounds like the Bucs would have to make a postseason run to get Godwin back in action this year.
