  • NYJ Quarterback #8

There are several moving parts in New York outside of Rodgers. The Jets will be filling vacancies at head coach and general manager after firing Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas this season. The new brain trust will ultimately determine if Rodgers is back with the team next year. Rodgers has no guaranteed money left on his deal, but cutting him would leave the Jets with a $49 million dead cap hit. Still, a new staff will likely want a fresh start at quarterback instead of a 41-year-old passer in what could be his final season, making the dead cap charge a cost of doing business.
  • TEN Running Back #2
After missing last week’s game with a concussion, Spears was listed as questionable heading into this week. Now officially out of concussion protocol, Spears will likely continue to split carries with Tony Pollard in Sunday’s game against the Commanders. Spears earned double-digit touches in Week 10, but only five touches in Week 11 due to his injury. Fantasy managers shouldn’t treat him as anything more than an RB4 that may have some value as a pass-catcher in PPR leagues. While Spears is active, the Titans did decalre CB Gabe Jeudy-Lally, RB Joshua Kelley, TE David Martin-Robinson, and OL Leroy Watson IV inactive for Week 13.
  • JAX Quarterback #16
However, his ability to take hits on the shoulder — and the fact that he has said that in-season surgery on it is an option — would have us a bit skittish about starting him in any league with just one starting quarterback. Inactive for the Jaguars are: OLB Yasir Abdullah, QB C.J. Beathard, T Javon Foster, DT Jordan Jefferson, RB D’Ernest Johnson, and DE Esezi Otomewo. Abdullah is nursing a hamstring injury. Everyone else is a healthy scratch (or in Beathard’s case a third quarterback.)
  • NYJ Running Back #20
Hall and the Jets have mostly downplayed his injury throughout the week. It’s possible he’s ready for his typical role coming off the Jets’ bye, though it’s probably still safer to treat him as an RB2 than the locked-in RB1 he has been ranked as most of the season. Inactive for the Jets are LB C.J. Mosley, RB Israel Abanikanda, OL Jake Hanson, OL Max Mitchell, CB Jarrick Bernard-Converse and EDGE Braiden McGregor.
  • JAX Quarterback #16
Lawrence was officially listed as questionable, though Doug Pederson said on Friday he expects the quarterback to play, so this isn’t a surprise. Lawrence missed two games with an AC joint injury in his non-throwing shoulder before the Jags’ Week 12 bye. Per Rapoport, Lawrence is “far less than 100 percent” healthy and surgery after the season or even sooner has not been ruled out. Mac Jones made two dismal starts in his place. With Lawrence back in the fold, fantasy managers can safely get Brian Thomas Jr. and Evan Engram in their lineups this week.
  • PHI Wide Receiver #6
Smith was listed as questionable on Friday after getting in two limited practices this week. The Eagles are giving him every chance to suit up, but it doesn’t look like he is quite ready to return. Smith will confirm the inevitable with a pre-game workout today. In a potential shootout with the Ravens, A.J. Brown, now in line to command even more targets, will push for a top-five ranking at his position this week. Dallas Goedert will crack the TE1 ranks as Philly’s de facto No. 2 receiver for Week 13.
  • NYJ Running Back #20
Hall appeared to be at risk of missing Week 13 after being held out of practice on Wednesday. Fantasy managers breathed a collective sigh of relief when he returned to practice on Friday. The Jets listed Hall as questionable to close the week, but Hall told reporters he wasn’t sore at all and is good for Sunday’s game. Hall will remain an explosive RB1 for his matchup with Seattle.
  • SF Quarterback #13
Purdy practiced with the starters on Friday, indicating the team expected him to suit up at the time. As Schefter notes, Purdy didn’t suffer any setbacks over the weekend and should be good to go for a Sunday night date with the Bills. Having already missed a game with what was initially described as shoulder soreness, we fully expect the 49ers to take a run-heavy approach this week. Traveling to Buffalo for a windy, snow-covered game will also encourage Kyle Shanahan to lean on his ground game. Purdy will spend a game at the top of the QB2 ranks for Week 13.
  • CLE Wide Receiver #19
Tillman was unable to practice at any point this week, indicating he is still experiencing concussion symptoms. He’ll miss the team’s game against the Broncos and have some additional time to start progressing through the league’s concussion protocol prior to Cleveland’s Week 14 game against the Steelers.
  • IND Wide Receiver #14
Pierce followed consecutive no-shows in practice with a full sessions Friday, drawing the questionable tag for Week 13 against the Patriots. His status is suddenly one to follow for the Colts as both Josh Downs and Ashton Dulin have been ruled out. Pierce’s presence likely moves electric rookie Adonai Mitchell into the slot.
