  • NO Quarterback #4
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
Carr is good to go after missing three games with the oblique injury. He returns to a team without Rashid Shaheed or rookie wideout Bub Means. The Saints’ offensive line, on the other hand, is trending in the right direction health-wise. Carr’s pace had cooled dramatically before he went down in Week 5, but a date with the Panthers defense should get him back on track in his Week 9 return. He sits at the top of the QB2 ranks this week.
  • LV Wide Receiver #16
Meyers was limited in Wednesday’s practice but returned for two full sessions before being removed from the injury report. He will likely have his practice reps managed going forward but isn’t at risk of missing any playing time barring any setbacks. Meyers reeled in 6-of-7 targets for 52 yards and a score in Week 8. Serving as the Raiders’ No. 1 receiver, Meyers is on the WR2/3 border for Week 9.
  • CIN Running Back #31
Moss’s addition to the injury report comes as a surprise to everyone, even the local reporters. He was not on the teams’ report before being listed as a DNP and doubtful on Friday. Moss is all but certain to miss Week 9 despite the doubtful tag leaving some margin for error. Chase Brown should dominate the backfield work in his absence. With no competition for touches, Brown will flirt with an RB1 ranking heading into a great matchup with the Raiders.
  • LAC Wide Receiver #1
Johnston has been out since suffering a likely high-ankle sprain in Week 6. He had three touchdowns through five games but a high-water mark of 51 receiving yards. LA is passing the ball more often now, but Ladd McConkey has also cemented himself as the team’s top wideout. Johnston will sit on the WR4/5 border for his Week 9 return.
  • MIN Tight End #87
Hockenson will suit up for the first time since suffering a torn ACL and MCL late in the 2023 season. He averaged 6.3 catches for 64 yards last year and will take his spot in the TE1 ranks once he is fully up to speed this year. That may not happen in his first game off injured reserve, so fantasy managers should proceed with caution this week. Hockenson sits at the top of the TE2 ranks for now, though that won’t last long.
  • LAR Wide Receiver #17
Nacua left Thursday’s practice after aggravating the knee issue that sidelined him for most of the first two months of the season. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that the issue wasn’t serious. McVay told reports today that there isn’t anything structurally wrong with his knee and that he wouldn’t bet against Nacua playing. All of this points to the second-year wideout suiting up this week, but it’s more than a bit concerning to see his knee issue flare up immediately after his return. Fantasy managers should treat him as a high-risk WR2 if he plays this week.
  • TEN Quarterback #8
Levis was limited in practice this week after missing the past two games with a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder. The Titans will likely take this decision down to the wire. Fantasy managers can ignore this situation entirely. Levis was struggling before suffering the shoulder injury and Mason Rudolph has two touchdowns to three picks in his two starts. Brian Callahan has not yet named a Week 9 starter but there is no QB2 juice in Tennessee this week, regardless.
  • CLE Tight End #85
Njoku was held out of the first two practices of the week with the ankle issue. He missed three games with the same injury earlier this year, so the team is managing his reps in practice. Njoku is good to go for Week 9. With 15 receptions for 137 yards and two scores sans Amari Cooper, Njoku is climbing the TE1 rankings this week.
  • BAL Quarterback #8
Jackson was a surprise DNP on Wednesday. Head coach John Harbaugh said it was just rest, but the Ravens threw us another curveball when they listed him with multiple issues on their injury report. Jackson missed Thursday’s session as well but was back on the field by Friday. He may be a little sore heading into Week 9, but neither Jackson nor Harbaugh were concerned about his availability at any point. Jackson will continue his MVP-caliber campaign as a high-end QB1 versus the Broncos this week.
  • CIN Wide Receiver #5
After a full week of DNPs, it would seem rather likely that Higgins will officially be out when the injury report is released later today. Higgins has not practiced or played since injuring the quad on Friday. It’s possible the Bengals try to make a game-time decision out of this, but even then, given the rough history of Higgins playing hurt under Zac Taylor, it’s hard to trust Higgins in fantasy lineups.
