  • SEA Quarterback #7

It was Smith’s first NFL game with four touchdown passes. Geno was cooking in this one, especially in the second half. He connected with Noah Fant, Jake Bobo, DK Metcalf, and AJ Barner for scores against a Rams defense resting most of its starters. Geno, 34, will end the season with 4,320 passing yards and 21 touchdowns, with a low 3.3 percent touchdown rate in what was a high-volume pass offense for most of the regular season. Though Smith is signed through the 2025 season, it would be a surprise if he doesn’t seem serious competition of the Seattle starting gig this offseason. That won’t come from Sam Howell, who proved this season that he is among the worst quarterbacks in organized football. The Seahawks have seemed to peak in the Geno era, leaving the franchise likely looking elsewhere for a QB who offers championship upside.
  • LAR Running Back #22
He’s listed as questionable to return but has next to no chance to see another snap in a meaningless game for LA. Entering the game as the Rams’ top back with Kyren Williams inactive alongside other LA starters, Corum had two carries for ten yards before leaving the game. Ronnie Rivers is in line to be the Rams’ lead back for the rest of the game.
  • SF Wide Receiver #15
Jennings entered the game 77 yards short of 1,000 on the year. Inconceivably, he committed personal fouls on back-to-back plays in the second quarter and was ejected 25 yards shy of 1K. Not smart, especially with the Niners making a concerted effort to get Jennings there. He had seven more looks than any other player. 27-year-old former seventh-rounder Jennings — who spent his 2020 rookie year on the Niners’ practice squad — was surprisingly signed to a two-year, $15.39 million extension in May. He immediately showed why, breaking out in Brandon Aiyuk’s absence even after the 49ers used a first-round pick on Ricky Pearsall. All of Jennings’ 77/975/6 were more than double his previous career highs, save for the touchdowns. After two mid-season hot streaks, Jennings did look like more of a role player down the stretch, but he’s proven beyond a doubt he can be one of the league’s best No. 3 wideouts, and a No. 2 in a pinch. With the 49ers’ receiver room uncertain amidst Aiyuk’s knee woes and Deebo Samuel’s decline, Jennings could remain a top-36 option in 2025.
  • GB Quarterback #10
Love left the game after taking a hit to the funny bone in the second quarter. The Packers, who were only playing for seeding, opted to have Love miss most of the rest of the game after getting stretched out on the sideline. We wouldn’t be stunned if Love wound up on the injury report this week, but it looks like the Packers have dodged a serious injury.
  • GB Wide Receiver #9
Watson suffered a non-contact injury to his right knee that sent him tumbling to the ground. He was eventually carted off the field and appeared to be in tears, leaving many to speculate the worst ahead of the Packers’ NFC Wild Card round. LaFleur clearly isn’t rushing to reveal the nature of Watson’s injury, but it wouldn’t be surprising if the worst was confirmed in the coming days. If Watson can’t go, Dontavyion Wicks would stand to see more work come playoff time.
  • FA Head Coach #51
So much for that. The Patriots’ plan to move on from Bill Belichick but not really with one of his most trusted lieutenants predictably did not pan out. It was ol’ Bill, of course, who haunted the 2024 proceedings, as this roster simply was not ready for prime time. Horribly understocked on offense, it suffered from the loss of Belichick’s unmatched defensive acumen on the other side of the ball. As for Mayo, he had trouble picking a lane in too many critical areas, including at quarterback to begin the year. Mayo seemed to grow increasingly frustrated and bewildered as the season wore on, never giving the sense he had the right answers. He was in a tough situation, but one where he decidedly did not rise above his circumstances. The attention now turns to another sort-of Belichick acolyte, Mike Vrabel. 38-year-old Mayo, who has never even served as a defensive coordinator, faces an uncertain coaching future.
  • ATL Running Back #7
In a loss that eliminated the Falcons from postseason contention, Robinson was a true workhorse, as he has been for much of the 2024 season. He regularly gashed the Carolina front seven and glided into a end zone twice with little resistance. Robinson posted 1,456 rushing yards and racked up 14 rushing scores in an Atlanta offense that ranked among the NFL’s run heaviest in 2024. First-year OC Zac Robinson committed to Bijan as the team’s unquestioned lead back — a relief for fantasy managers who had been stung by former Falcons head coach Arthur Smith’s curious usage of the former first-round pick. Robinson finishes the season third in running back receptions and was graded by Pro Football Focus as the league’s eighth best pass-catching back. With Tyler Allgeier banished to distant RB2 status, Robinson should be a top-five selection in all fantasy formats next summer.
  • HOU Running Back #31
Pierce took a 92-yard touchdown on Houston’s first play from scrimmage on their third series by outrunning a single Titans deep safety to the edge. He did have a fumble in the game — one he recovered — but looked like the 2022 version of Pierce, bullying around a Titans front and getting extra yards after contact on most plays. It was a good showcase of his talents as he has mostly languished on the sideline this year while Joe Mixon became a true three-down back. Pierce finishes the regular season with a 40/293/2 rushing line and will go back to the sideline in the Wild Card round, though perhaps this performance will get him a few more snaps than he otherwise would have had.
  • ATL Quarterback #9
The Falcons’ loss ends their slim postseason hopes and caps off a disappointing season for the team’s offense. Penix had all day to operate from a clean pocket against a toothless Carolina defense and picked apart the Panthers from start to finish, targeting Drake London relentlessly. His interception came on a tipped ball by an Atlanta pass catcher, his second such pick over the past two games. Penix during his three late-season starts displayed his strong arm and ability to change plays at the line and manipulate secondaries with his eyes. Penix’s functional mobility was on full display over his three rookie season starts; he did well to avoid oncoming rushers and keep his eyes upfield. He profiles as the kind of point guard quarterback who can fuel fantasy production for at least a couple pass catchers. Penix will be a reasonable floor play in fantasy lineups in 2025.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #1
Nabers’ season ends with a line of 109-1204-7. The No. 6 overall pick did everything that was expected of him in his rookie campaign despite battling through a number of nagging injuries this offseason. At his best, Nabers was erupting for 7-171-1 against the Colts, but he steadily produced for fantasy managers all season long, surpassing 50 receiving yards in all but one game this season. Nabers proved to be a target hog in his rookie campaign and produced at a high level despite catching passes from four different quarterbacks on the season. An easy lock to be a top-12 fantasy receiver next season, Nabers should benefit from what we can only assume will be improved quarterback play next season and already has the look of another great receiver for years to come.
