The signing of Havrisik creates some added competition for Tyler Bass, who has converted on just 9-of-12 field goals this season and had a bad miss on an extra-point attempt in Monday night’s win over the Jets — it was the second extra point Bass missed this season. Havrisik has converted on 15-of-20 field goal attempts in his career, with two of his field goals coming from distances of 50-plus yards. We’ll see if Bass is with the team when they take the field in Week 7 against the Titans.
  • CLE Running Back #24
The possible return of Nick Chubb (knee) in Week 7 against the Bengals could prompt Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski to call a more balanced or run-first offense, Oyefusi said. The team’s shift to the run may have already begun: The Browns in Week 6 against the Eagles were 6 percent below their expected drop back rate. Oyefusi reports that Browns players “said after the game that running the ball, specifically the under-center zone runs that Stefanski has had success with, was a point of emphasis during preparation for Philadelphia.” A run-first approach would help hide struggling QB Deshaun Watson and hide the team’s new deficiencies among its pass catchers after dealing Amari Cooper to Buffalo. Chubb is probably weeks away from seeing a full workload, however.
  • LAR Wide Receiver #10
McVay was non-committal on Kupp’s availability for Week 7. Kupp did individual work on Wednesday but was held out of team drills, meaning he should be listed as a DNP on LA’s injury report. Kupp has been out since Week 2 and has struggled through injuries over the past three years. As desperate as the Rams are to get him back, they are going to be understandably cautious with his return. If he can’t suit up for Week 7, Jordan Whittington, Demarcus Robinson, and Tutu Atwell will be the Rams’ starting trio of receivers.
  • BUF Running Back #4
Cook was expected to play through the toe injury last week despite being listed as questionable. He was surprisingly listed as inactive ahead of kickoff, though the Bills did call up a running back from their practice squad over the weekend, foreshadowing Cook’s eventual absence. A limited session on Wednesday is a good start to the week, though his status remains up in the air. If he can’t suit up, Ray Davis, who turned 23 touches into 152 yards last week, will draw his second start.
  • PIT Running Back #22
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported the rib injury “doesn’t sound like a cause for great concern.” Harris is a grinder who has no issue playing through injuries. Barring a setback, we fully expect to him play this week. He is coming off his best showing of the year with 106 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. With Jaylen Warren playing a limited role, Harris remains in the RB2 ranks for Week 7.
  • MIA Running Back #28
A full practice means Achane will clear the league’s concussion protocol shortly. He should be good to go for his Week 7 matchup with Indy. The Colts have been gashed on the ground this year and the Dolphins are still without Tua Tagovailoa. Expect another run-heavy approach from Miami spearheaded by Achane, who ranks as a low-end RB1 this week.
  • MIN Running Back #33
Jones went down with the hip injury in Week 5 and did not return. He got an extra week of rest with the Vikings on bye last week, but he may still be forced to miss their upcoming game versus the Lions. Minnesota’s trade for Cam Akers also points toward Jones missing at least a week. Ty Chandler would see the bulk of the Vikings’ touches if Jones is ruled out, putting him on RB2 notice pending Jones’s status.
  • SF Running Back #24
Mason suffered a sprained AC joint in the 49ers’ Week 6 win over Seattle. Head coach Kyle Shanahan called him day-to-day after the Thursday game. The extra days of recovery undoubtedly helped San Francisco’s latest RB1 get back on the field by their first injury report of the week. A limited session suggests Mason has a good chance at suiting up in Week 7 versus the Chiefs.
  • NO Wide Receiver #22
Shaheed is obviously out for Week 7 versus the Broncos and will miss a few more games if injured reserve is a possibility. With Chris Olave also out, the Saints are down to Bub Means as their top receiver. The rookie caught five passes for 45 yards and a touchdown in Week 6. He is worth adding as a potential WR4 in all fantasy formats.
  • NO Wide Receiver #12
Olave suffered the concussion early in the Saints’ Week 6 loss to the Bucs and did not return. He has suffered multiple previous concussions and did not practice this week, so it’s no surprise to see him ruled out a day in advance. Rashid Shheed’s status remains up in the air. If he is also ruled out, Bub Means will be the team’s de facto WR1.
