It was a game to be forgotten by the 49ers in what became swirling blizzard-like conditions due to lake effect in Buffalo. Furthering the dismay for the 49ers was the departure of running back Christian McCaffrey five minutes into the second quarter, who appears likely to miss the remainder of the season with a PCL injury. That could bring back the consistency to Kittle’s game the rest of the way, with his next opportunity to return a usable fantasy score coming in Week 14 against the Bears.
  • SF Wide Receiver #1
Samuel struggled mightily with the rest of the team in the face of blizzard-like conditions in Buffalo. The 49ers managed just 239 total yards of offense while largely struggling to move the ball, due in part to the weather and due in part to being seemingly overmatched in every area of the field. Samuel’s next chance to return a usable fantasy score will come in Week 14 against the reeling Bears.
  • SF Running Back #23
The hits just keep coming for the 49ers, who not only fell to 5-7 and two games behind the division-leading Seahawks but they now potentially lost their All-Pro running back (again). McCaffrey gave himself up behind the offensive line on a carry five minutes into the second quarter. He was able to walk under his own power to the medical tent and then the locker room, but initial testing revealed a potentially season-ending PCL injury. While the severity is not yet known, it is horrible news for the alpha running back that managed just three fully healthy games this season. Further testing Monday will reveal more.
  • SF Wide Receiver #15
Jennings led the team in targets and yardage on a night the two teams were contending with blizzard-like conditions, something that held quarterback Brock Purdy to just 18 pass attempts. Jennings continues to produce with the increased opportunity following the season-ending injury to Brandon Aiyuk and could be tasked with more with the 49ers suddenly two games back for the division lead and expecting to be without running back Christian McCaffrey for the remainder of the season.
  • SF Quarterback #13
Purdy and the San Francisco offense struggled to move the football throughout but were dealt a crushing blow five minutes into the second quarter when All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey departed with a knee injury after giving himself up behind the line of scrimmage. The modest 18 pass attempts from Purdy highlighted both the tricky weather conditions and a general inability to move the football against the aggressive Buffalo defense. The 49ers fell to 5-7 and are now two games behind the Seahawks for the division lead with only five games left to play. Up next for the 49ers is a similarly downtrodden Bears team in Week 14, a game they might now have to play without McCaffrey.
  • NO Tight End #7
Rapoport’s report comes shortly after interim HC Darren Rizzi told reporters Hill would require further testing on his injured knee. Rapoport confirms as much, saying Hill will “have an MRI to determine the severity of the injury. But feared to be significant.” If this is the end of Hill’s 2024 season, he finishes having completed 2-of-4 passes for 21 passing yards and one interception, rushed 39 times for 279 yards and six touchdowns and caught 23-of-30 targets for 187 yards. He is under contract through the 2025 season.
  • SF Running Back #23
McCaffrey looked spry through the first 20 minutes of play before giving himself up after taking a handoff five minutes into the second quarter. Players have been struggling to gain their footing in the drilling snow in Buffalo, something that could have aggravated McCaffrey’s Achilles tendinitis. We’ll await further word from the team.
  • LAR Quarterback #9
Stafford and the Rams offense got off to a molasses-like slow start against the Saints. Having completed just 4-of-10 passes in the first half, Stafford had an improved second half, tossing both of his touchdowns with under 16 minutes left in the game. He connected with Demarcus Robinson and Puka Nacua for short-yardage scores and showed his usual, collected self as the Rams scored all of their 21 points in the second half to win. A tough Bills matchup is on the horizon for Week 14; Stafford will be in the QB2 ranks for fantasy.
  • BAL Wide Receiver #7
Bateman was ruled out just before the end of the third quarter. His day ends without a counting stat of note. Diontae Johnson, who is also without a stat so far, should see an uptick in snaps with Bateman out, though Nelson Agholor is playing the WR2 role for Baltimore to open the fourth quarter.
  • ARI Wide Receiver #18
It’s a new career high in targets for Harrison. Sunday marked only his third game of the season with more than seven looks from Kyler Murray. Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said before the game that the team would make a concerted effort to get Harrison the ball, and though it was a slow start — MHJ had just four targets at the end of the third quarter — the Arizona passing offense revolved around him and Trey McBride, who also had a dozen targets. Murray found Harrison for a 15-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter before the Cardinals lost a lead lead to Minnesota. Harrison will be a top-30 fantasy play next week against the Seahawks. Harrison had 47 yards in Week 12 against Seattle.
