Chiefs signed RB Kareem Hunt from their practice squad to the active roster.

In a corresponding move, they waived RB Keontay Ingram. Welcome to the three-man committee backfield, folks. It feels likely that Hunt will cut into Carson Steele’s snaps, but we’re not going to have more than a vague coach quote idea or notion to go on for Week 4. Steele and Samaje Perine each lose a bit of value in the short-term as we try to suss out how the pecking order will go. Hunt rushed for 411 yards and nine touchdowns on 135 carries for the Browns last year.

PIT Running Back #30

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said RB Jaylen Warren (knee) is “in question” for Week 4’s game against the Colts.

Tomlin pulled Warren from Week 3’s game against the Chargers because he noticed Warren wasn’t “running smoothly,” and Warren had an MRI on Monday. If Warren misses time this week, Cordarelle Patterson would upgrade to the main support back behind Najee Harris.

Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz reports Steelers RB Najee Harris is expected to be fine and “is likely to be ready” for Week 4’s game against the Colts.

“There doesn’t seem to be any concern,” Schultz continued. Harris was spotted with his arm in a sling yesterday in the locker room, but this news and the confirmation that Jaylen Warren’s status is up in the air for Week 4 by Mike Tomlin would seem to paint Harris as an RB2 play at the very least against the Colts. Mike Tomlin said in his presser today that Harris “will be ready to rock and roll.”

Panthers placed WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) on injured reserve.

He’ll miss at least the next four weeks. Thielen caught his first touchdown of the season last week against the Raiders after spending two weeks anchored to Bryce Young. Rookie first-rounder Xavier Legette figures to see more time next to Jonathan Mingo and Diontae Johnson and could provide some future intrigue to the waiver wire if Andy Dalton continues to play this well. Legette is worth a stash in leagues with deeper benches if he was dropped.
Mike Evans

TB Wide Receiver #13

Bucs head coach Todd Bowles said he wants Mike Evans to be “involved more” in the team’s offense.

Evans has been almost invisible in Tampa’s offense since his two-touchdown performance against Washington in Week 1. The veteran has five catches for 59 scoreless yards over his past two outings and was mostly shut down by Broncos CB Pat Surtain II in Week 3. Evans has seen 32 percent of the team’s air yards, second to Chris Godwin’s 39 percent air yards share. It’s a troubling development for a wideout who dominated opportunities in the Tampa offense as recently as the first half of the 2023 season. Evans, who is on pace for just 85 targets, could get back on track in Week 4 against a weak Eagles coverage unit.
Ja'Marr Chase

CIN Wide Receiver #1

Ja’Marr Chase caught 6-of-7 targets for 118 yards and two touchdowns in the Bengals’ Week 3 loss to the Commanders.

Chase took advantage of a soft matchup against the Commanders, hauling in two touchdowns on his way to his best fantasy performance of the first three weeks. Play calling remains an issue from head coach Zac Taylor, who largely fails to place his skill position players in position to maximize their upside, instead relying on their skill to win out. It’s a trend that has persisted throughout Taylor’s tenure in Cincinnati, meaning Chase is likely to have to continue to overcome his head coach’s play calling tendencies until a change is made.
Zack Moss

CIN Running Back #31

Zack Moss rushed 12 times for 58 yards in the Bengals’ Week 3 loss to the Commanders, adding 39 yards on five receptions.

Moss continued in the lead back role for the Bengals, seeing 18 opportunities to the 10 of Chase Brown. Even though Brown is clearly the more explosive back, Moss has done nothing but return consistent production for the Bengals through three games and should continue leading the backfield in opportunities moving forward.
Joe Burrow

CIN Quarterback #9

Joe Burrow completed 29-of-38 passes for 324 yards and three touchdowns in the Bengals’ 38-33, Week 3 loss to the Commanders, adding four yards on his lone carry.

Burrow and the Bengals offense struggled in the red zone against an opponent largely incapable of keeping opposition out of the paint. Even with the struggles in the red zone, the loss can be attributed to a missed field goal and a failed two-point conversion in the fourth quarter, which makes up the five-point margin of defeat. Burrow looked sharp with his full supporting cast of skill position players, but was largely held down by inefficient play calling from head coach Zac Taylor, particularly in the red zone. The 0-3 Bengals have not experienced the start to the season they had hoped, especially with losses to the Commanders and Patriots, two teams expected to be in the bottom five coming into the season. That trend continues in Week 4 when the Bengals travel to Carolina to face the Panthers.
Terry McLaurin

WAS Wide Receiver #17

Terry McLaurin caught 4-of-6 targets for 100 yards and a touchdown in the Commanders’ Week 3 win over the Bengals.

McLaurin caught a pair of deep balls from quarterback Jayden Daniels, the first going for 55 yards in the first half and the second a highlight reel touchdown catch on a beautiful raindrop pass from Daniels off his back foot to seal the victory in the fourth quarter. It was refreshing to see McLaurin finally targeted on deep passes after running mostly short area routes through the first two weeks of the season. McLaurin could find further success in Week 4 when the Commanders travel to Arizona to take on the Cardinals.
Brian Robinson Jr.

WAS Running Back #8

Brian Robinson rushed 16 times for 33 yards and a touchdown in the Commanders’ Week 3 win over the Bengals, adding four yards on his lone reception.

Robinson was getting vastly outperformed by backfield mate Austin Ekeler before Ekeler was forced from the game to be evaluated for a concussion in the third quarter. Even so, Robinson ended with 17 opportunities to the five of Ekeler, with the two operating in a clearly defined lead back and change of pace back split. Robinson could find more room to run against the Cardinals in Week 4.
