Viewed by many as the top pass rusher in this year’s draft, Carter will still meet with teams and participate in all physical exams at the combine. The Penn State product won’t be working out due to a shoulder injury he suffered in a game last season against Boise State, but has reportedly already been cleared by his doctor to resume training. With Penn State’s pro day set for March 28th, Carter will now set his sights to prepping for said pro day, where he is expected to go through drills in front of scouts and coaches.

Judon played on 655 snaps last season and was healthy for all 17 games. That’s the good news. The bad news is his 5.5 sacks were his fewest in any healthy season since his rookie season in 2016. JJudon will be 32 at the start of next season and decided to bet on himself last season even after being traded from the Patriots to the Falcons. It’s fair to say things didn’t go as planned for Judon, who should still have suitors this offseason, even if it’s not with Atlanta. As a veteran pass rusher, Judon could benefit from playing on select passing downs rather than playing a full-time role.

This isn’t the first time a ban for the play made famous by the Eagles under head coach Nick Sirianni has been presented. Last year, Vincent said a proposal would not be presented during the offseason, so we’ll see if said proposal is actually brought to the table this time around. The league would require 24 of 32 teams to vote in favor of the ban for it to pass, and in the past, it’s been reported there wouldn’t be enough support for a ban if it did come to a vote. No team will ever admit it, but the push for a ban likely stems from the fact the Eagles are excellent at executing a play the rest of the league hasn’t quite perfected yet. Whether or not that proves enough to allow for a vote is to be determined, but we saw the same argument fall flat last year.

Jeanty’s agent, Henry Organ, said his client will only participate in medical evaluations and team interviews during this week’s NFL Scouting Combine. The former Boise State RB led the nation in rushing last season with 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns, finishing second in the Heisman Trophy vote. Long believed to be the RB1 of this year’s class, Jeanty is expected to go through all workouts at Boise State’s pro day.

Thompson suffered a torn Achilles in Week 4 and has played in just six games over the last two years. The soon-to-be 31-year-old linebacker has spent his entire 10-year career with the Panthers, racking up 752 tackles and 12 sacks while also forcing seven turnovers. His recent injury history is concerning, but when healthy, Thompson has shown himself to be a serviceable inside linebacker who is capable of filling gaps and stopping the run. He will likely land elsewhere on a one-year deal this offseason in hopes of competing for a meaningful role while proving he’s fully-recovered from his latest injury.

Rapoport notes that Sanders plans to focus on the interview process in Indianapolis rather than throwing, and then will participate in a pro day that features “four draftable wide receivers.” The 23-year-old should be one of — if not the — first quarterbacks off the board in 2025, and the tape he put together at Colorado and Jackson State likely should be enough to carry him to a high first-round selection.

As Pompei writes in a recent article, the decision to push back the void date on Godwin’s current deal is “an indication both sides are hopeful a deal can be reached, and that talks are in the works.” Godwin turns 29 later this month and is still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in Week 7 last season. Before that injury, Godwin was on pace to have one of the best years of his career and should have plenty left to offer a Bucs receiving corps that still has Mike Evans in tow. Godwin’s deal won’t expire until the day before the start of the new league year, giving both sides until March 11th before Godwin would officially become a free agent.

Pelissero said during Friday’s appearance on the Rich Eisen Show that the priority remains for the Rams to keep Stafford in Los Angeles. However, that won’t happen without a new contract for the 37-year-old quarterback. By letting Stafford’s representation speak to other teams the Rams are essentially letting his market set itself. Negotiations between Stafford and the Rams were drawn out last offseason and ended with the gunslinger giving up guaranteed money in 2025, which would make it easier for the Rams to trade him this offseason. While several teams including the New York Giants have been linked to Stafford this offseason and trade speculation will only increase until a new contract is finalized, the most likely scenario remains another run with Sean McVay and the Rams.

Gladstone was one of several candidates to replace Trent Baalke, but the Jaguars finally were able to come a decision Friday. Gladstone has been with the Rams for the last eight seasons — the last four as a director of scouting strategy — and is widely respected around the industry. It’s been proven time and again that if you need to go outside your org to make a hire, the Rams are the best place to start. 34-year-old Gladstone inherits a Jacksonville roster that is not bereft of talent, but needs a quality offseason or two to become a true competitor in the AFC.

Staley was always going to be the pick once New Orleans tabbed Kellen Moore as their next head coach. Moore spent a year as the Chargers’ offensive coordinator during Staley’s tenure as the team’s head coach. The roles will be reversed in The Big Easy. Staley called the league’s top defense in his only season as the Rams’ defensive coordinator before struggling to get his side of the ball in order with the Chargers. After the team fired him in 2023, Staley joined the 49ers staff. If all goes well in New Orleans, Staley could be in the running for another head coaching job in a few years.
