  • CHI Running Back #4
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
The Bears find a collective sigh of relief after ruling Roschon Johnson out earlier in the week. Swift managed just a lone limited session this week while dealing with a groin injury but will be on the field as the Bears take on the division rival Vikings. Inactive for the Bears are DT Gervon Dexter, LT Braxton Jones, RB Roschon Johnson, OL Ryan Bates, DB Ameer Speed, and LB Noah Sewell.
  • LAC Wide Receiver #1
Johnston suffered an ankle injury in Sunday’s loss to the Buccaneers but did manage to play out the remainder of the game. Monday’s DNP designation could simply be a matter of rest as the Chargers look to get him ready to play on a short week on Thursday night. We’ll see if things look any different on Tuesday or Wednesday’s injury report’s before allowing ourselves to get too concerned about Johnston’s Week 16 availability against the Broncos.
  • LAC Quarterback #10
Herbert played through the same ankle injury in Week 15’s loss to the Buccaneers and should be fine for a pivotal Week 16 game against the Broncos on Thursday night. We’ll see how things like a little closer to game day, but Herbert opening the week as a limited participant is a good sign for his availability.
  • DET Running Back #5
A brutal day for the Lions gets even worse as Montgomery goes from out indefinitely to out for the season. Montgomery finishes the season with a 185/775/12 rushing line as well as 36 catches for 341 yards. He just signed an extension this season, but with the late date of this injury and the quick “out for season” call, it’s possible the torn MCL has Montgomery missing time this offseason. This firmly places Jahmyr Gibbs as high as RB2 overall in the fantasy ranks this week, behind only Saquon Barkley. It’s also possible it creates a fantasy role for Craig Reynolds.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #17
Waddle did not play at all in the second half of Miami’s loss to Houston in Week 15, but was on the sideline with his helmet in his hands. We’d want to see some practice reports before declaring this a non-issue, but this is as comforting a coach quote as you could hope for after Waddle waddled (sorry) off the field in the second quarter.
  • BAL Wide Receiver #18
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports, “This is not an extension of the suspension for Johnson,” while adding that the Ravens and Johnson are “working through their options right now.” Johnson was suspended by the team in Week 15 after refusing to enter the game in Week 13’s loss to the Eagles, and was expected to be back with the team on Monday. Now, it sounds as if the two sides could be headed for a split before season’s end. Things have gone poorly for Johnson since he arrived to Baltimore at the NFL’s trade deadline. He has just one catch for six yards since joining the team.
  • NO Running Back #41
Rizzi said Kamara’s injury is a groin abductor injury. Kamara said after the game that it felt like a minor injury, which he suffered on a 21-yard receiving touchdown in the third quarter, but Rizzi opted not to comment on the severity of the injury. Kamara’s Week 16 status, for now, is up in the air, meaning Kendre Miller is a priority add on waivers for fantasy managers still in the fight. Miller could be in line for a busy day if Kamara is sidelined, while Jamaal Williams, who has just 35 carries on the season, could also see an uptick in touches.
  • HOU Running Back #28
Mixon left Week 15’s game briefly after a hip-drop tackle, but returned without missing more than a few snaps. He didn’t have his normal burst, but finished out the game. Volume alone will put Mixon near the RB1 line in a Week 16 start against the Chiefs — the Texans suddenly find themselves as slight favorites with Patrick Mahomes’ status in jeopardy.
  • CLE Tight End #85
Njoku did not practice all of last week with the hamstring ailment, so we’re probably going to need to at least see a limited session before we get excited about the odds of him coming back. The Browns morphed into a Jerry Jeudy-only offense with Njoku out on Sunday, with only Elijah Moore also garnering more than four targets.
  • KC Quarterback #15
The week-to-week designation undoubtedly puts Mahomes’ Week 16 availability into question, and perhaps his availability for the remainder of the regular season. with the AFC West already secured, the Chiefs could opt to sit Mahomes for the remainder of the regular season and all his ankle to get fully healed — or close to it — in time for the playoffs. If he doesn’t play in Week 16, the Chiefs would be forced to turn to Carson Wentz, who joined them on a one-year deal this offseason. Wentz saw his first action in Week 15’s win over the Browns, throwing for 20 yards on two pass attempts while also rushing three times for zero yards. He would have some mid to low-end QB2 appeal in 2QB/Superflex leagues but should be avoided in standard 1QB leagues.
