Dolphins downgraded QB Tua Tagovailoa (hip) to doubtful for Week 17 against the Browns.

Well that took a drastic turn in a hurry. The Dolphins now appear to be without quarterback Tua Tagovailoa due to a hip injury for the team’s Week 17 contest against the Browns, making it likely we see Tyler Huntley under center. The Dolphins have yet to be mathematically eliminated from playoff contention but need two consecutive wins and some help to get in. One of the top expected game environments of Week 17 just two weeks ago now appears set to be a showdown between Huntley and Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
Drake Maye

NE Quarterback #10

Patriots QB Drake Maye headed into the blue medical tent after taking a hit to the head in the first quarter of Week 17 against the Chargers.

Maye scrambled and ran along the sideline, taking a hit to the head from Chargers CB Cam Hart instead of stepping out of bounds. The run ended the Patriots’ drive and Maye headed to the blue medical tent as the Patriots started their defensive possession. He headed to the locker room to be evaluated for head injury and will be questionable to return. Jacoby Brissett is in the game for him.
Antonio Gibson

NE Running Back #4

Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo said RB Antonio Gibson will start over Rhamondre Stevenson in Week 17 against the Chargers.

On 98.5 The Sports Hub, Mayo said, “Gibby is going to start for us today.” This marks the second time this season Stevenson has been benched for fumble issues. He has now fumbled seven times this season. Expect Stevenson to still mix in for a committee backfield in Week 17, but he falls to RB3 viability. Gibson is worth FLEX consideration.
J.K. Dobbins

LAC Running Back #27

Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins (knee) is active for Week 17 against the Patriots.

Dobbins was activated off injured reserve after missing four games due to a knee injury he suffered in Week 12. He slots back in as the starter. Inactive for the Chargers are QB Easton Stick, RB Gus Edwards, LB Denzel Perryman, OL Jordan McFadden, OL Trey Pipkins III, TE Hayden Hurst, and DL Justin Eboigbe. Hurst (illness) is out, but Will Dissly is active, making Dissly a streamer tight end option this week. Edwards (ankle) has also been ruled out for this game, giving Dobbins primary ownership of the Chargers’ backfield in his return, with Kimani Vidal and Hassan Haskins handling backup duties.
Chuba Hubbard

CAR Running Back #30

Chuba Hubbard will be placed on injured reserve due to a calf and knee injury, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Hubbard was listed as questionable with a knee injury for the Week 17 matchup with the Buccaneers and Panthers head coach Dave Canales said he expected the 25-year-old running back to play after Friday’s practice. He was having a great season that included earning a rare midseason extension at the position seemingly no teams want to reward with long-term contracts. Hubbard was a borderline RB1 heading into fantasy championship week, but now his managers will be scrambling for other options. Mike Boone will likely start in Hubbard’s absence with Miles Sanders also on injured reserve. Boone is in flex consideration as more of a desperation play as he doesn’t offer nearly the same upside as Hubbard.
Malik Nabers

NYG Wide Receiver #1

Ian Rapoport reports Malik Nabers (toe) is expected to play in Week 17 against the Colts.

Rapoport also mentioned that Nabers “looked good in practice” on Friday. Both Nabers’ expected availability and his promising practice showing are reassuring. Fantasy managers should keep the explosive wide receiver in starting lineups this week.
Davante Adams

NYJ Wide Receiver #17

Davante Adams (hip) is questionable for Week 17 against the Bills.

Adams was held out of Thursday’s practice before being upgraded to a limited session on Friday. He should be able to suit up this week as Aaron Rodgers chases his 500th career touchdown. All eyes will predictably be on Adams when the Jets get to the red zone. Adams will be a low-end WR1 if active.
Chris Olave

NO Wide Receiver #12

Chris Olave (concussion) is questionable for Week 17 against the Raiders.

Olave practiced in full on Wednesday and Thursday. His Friday practice participation has not yet been released but his questionable labeling at least tells us the team is keeping long-term outlooks in mind. Beat reporter Nick Underhill states, “Olave is questionable but I’d bet he doesn’t play.” Fantasy managers should expect to be without Olave this week though he would be a volatile WR2/3 if active.
Tyreek Hill

MIA Wide Receiver #10

Tyreek Hill (wrist) is questionable for Week 17 against the Browns.

Hill has been playing through the wrist issue all year. Even as it has seemingly gotten worse late in the season, the injury has yet to cost him a game. He will likely continue to labor through it at least until Miami is eliminated from the playoff hunt. Hill has made a habit of saving quiet box scores with a touchdown, scoring five times in his past seven games despite topping 100 yards just once in that stretch. He remains a low-end WR2 for Week 17.
Jalen Hurts

PHI Quarterback #1

Jalen Hurts (concussion) will not play in Week 17 against the Cowboys.

Kenny Pickett will make his first start of the year versus Dallas. Hurts is dealing with a concussion he suffered in the first quarter of Philly’s Week 16 loss to the Commanders. He should be back for the Eagles’ regular season finale versus the Giants. Even with Pickett under center, A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith remain must-start players for the final week of the fantasy season.
