Long considered as the favorite to land the job, Nussmeier, who was drafted by the Saints in 1994, will now follow Kellen Moore to New Orleans in hopes of revitalizing a Saints team that finished 5-12 last season. Nussmeier and Moore worked closely from 2020 to 2022 as members of the Cowboys, in 2023 while with the Chargers, and last season with the Eagles, which should make for a seamless transition for all involved. Nussmeier last served as an offensive coordinator in 2017 while with the University of Florida, but also had coordinator stops at the collegiate ranks at Fresno State, Washington, Alabama, and Michigan. While Nussmeier is now in place, it’s worth restating that Moore is expected to serve as the primary play-caller in what should be a new-look Saints offense.
  • PIT Quarterback #3
Speaking on the Rich Eisen Show, Russini said, “I think they are discussing everything. In fact, I know they are.” Much like last off-season, the Steelers are once again trying to figure out which veteran quarterback will lead the team into 2025 after Russell Wilson left much to be desired late in the season. While it’s still possible Wilson returns to the Steel City this offseason, Russini said the Steelers will discuss all possibilities but added she has “a hard time believing” they would pursue somebody like Sam Darnold or Matthew Stafford. While the Steelers appear to be somewhat open-minded in their approach to the position this offseason, it remains highly likely that they will continue to scour the market for a veteran signal-caller rather than make a drastic move, such as trading up in the draft to secure a rookie quarterback like Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders. Who that vet is remains to be determined, but the familiarity they have with Wilson and Fields should give at least one of them the inside edge to return next season.
  • PHI Offensive Coordinator
Patullo will take the job left vacant by Kellen Moore, who was hired as the Saints’ next head coach after Philly’s Super Bowl victory. He will be Jalen Hurts’ fourth offensive coordinator in as many years. Moore and Shane Steichen were hired away as head coaches while Brian Johnson was a one-and-done promotion from within. Patullo has never called plays at the NFL level but has been with the Eagles since 2021, working closely with Moore and head coach Nick Sirianni. Moore laid out the blueprint for Philly’s offense last year. If Patullo can keep the team’s explosive run game on track while also scheming up looks for A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, the transition shouldn’t be an issue for the offense.
  • LAR Quarterback #9
Per Schultz, the belief is the Rams would want a first-round pick for Stafford. Schultz also made it clear that the Rams want Stafford, who is looking for a new contract, back for the 2025 season. Teams always make calls when there is any chance of a marquee quarterback being moved, but the Rams wouldn’t have many options to replace Stafford if they ship him off. Given the almost annual rumors of Sean McVay flirting with retirement, it’s hard to imagine the team choosing 2025 as the offseason to call it quits on Stafford. Still, the idea that his days in LA are numbered does appear to have legs. This will be a recurring story over the next month as free agency approaches.
  • DET Wide Receiver #9
Williams was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over in Detroit in October and found to have two firearms in the front seat, one of them registered to Williams. Williams did not have a concealed pistol license to carry the weapon at the time but later obtained the permit, according to Birkett. The Lions wideout was arrested and released without charges. Williams had been suspended twice by the league for violating the NFL’s performance enhancing drug and gambling policies. Williams will enter 2025 as one of the league’s most explosive pass catchers following his first 1,000-yard season as a pro.
  • KC Tight End #87
March 15, per Graziano, would be considered a “soft deadline” for Kelce to decide if he’ll retire or play another season with the Chiefs. It’s on the day that $11.5 million is due to Kelce as a roster bonus. Kelce, 35, who said on February 11 that he would “take some time” before making the call to return for a 13th NFL season, could conceivably collect that bonus and announce his retirement later in the spring or summer. “But it’s important to mention this is one of the greatest players in franchise history and isn’t likely to be shoved out the door over $11.5 million,” Graziano said. Kelce’s decision will impact the entire Kansas City offense and will continue to be a top storyline of the NFL offseason.
  • JAX Wide Receiver #13
Kirk has one year remaining on his current deal and is scheduled to make $16.5 million in 2025. He missed much of the 2024 regular season after sustaining a broken collarbone in October, finishing the year with 27 catches for 379 yards and one touchdown on 47 targets. With Brian Thomas emerging as a dominant WR1 and Gabe Davis positioned as a downfield threat, along with a new regime in Jacksonville, could spell the end of Kirk’s run as a Jaguar, Graziano said. He added that Kirk’s contract “is reasonable enough that the Jaguars might be able to get something for him in a trade if he’s healthy.” Kirk, 28, would draw interest from wideout-needy teams if the Jags part ways with him in the coming weeks.
  • BAL Tight End #89
Andrews, headed into his age-30 season, is set to make $11 million in 2025, with a $4 million roster bonus due on March 17. “His salary cap number is $16.9 million, and because his salary is not guaranteed, the Ravens could save $11 million on this year’s cap if they cut him before the roster bonus is due,” Graziano said. This isn’t the first time Andrews’ future with Baltimore has been in question. The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec said in January that the team could trade or extend Andrews this offseason, depending on their commitment to one of Lamar Jackson’s most reliable targets. The presence of productive TE Isaiah Likely — who has thrived in games Andrews has missed over the past two seasons — could make Andrews expendable for the Ravens. Andrews single-handedly cost the Ravens an appearance in the AFC title game last month with brutal late-game drops.
  • MIN Quarterback #14
Seifert says that this doesn’t mean that Minnesota has ruled out placing the franchise tag on Darnold, and that they also haven’t ruled out signing him to a multi-year deal. The Vikings could pull off a tag-and-trade with Darnold if a potential destination he’s interested in wants to jump the market. This will be a situation to monitor over the coming weeks, as it sounds like the Vikings will try to gather as much intelligence as they can before making the decision on the March 4 franchise tag deadline.
  • MIN Quarterback #13
Boyd said Jones would make sense as a signing who could push Anthony Richardson in training camp and fill in for him should Richardson have yet another injury-marred season in 2025. Jones’ “abilities on the ground mean the offense won’t have to change much should Richardson miss more time due to injury,” Boyd said, adding Justin Fields could be another option for a Colts team hedging their bets on Richardson. Richardson is reportedly working with a biometrics coach to hone his throwing motion ahead of the 2025 season. Without a major leap in intermediate accuracy, Richardson could lose out to Jones after being benched for Joe Flacco in 2024.
