  • DAL Running Back #20
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy spoke earlier this week about Cook calling him “in position” to play Sunday. Maybe he’ll be part of Dallas’ game plan coming out of the bye week, but it’s more likely the 29-year-old Cook gets just enough work to take away from Rico Dowdle and Ezekiel Elliott’s fantasy value.
  • WAS Quarterback #5
Commanders coach Dan Quinn said the goal is to get Daniels as many walk-through reps as you can. He’ll also go through meetings and have treatment on his rib cartilage injury. Daniels’ status for Sunday remains up in the air as he’s still listed as questionable and is certainly a game-time decision. While Daniels wasn’t spotted by beat reporters during the open portion of practice on Friday, Quinn insisted that he practiced. While participating in walk-through could be a good sign for Daniels’ availability, we won’t know if he’s playing until Washington releases its inactives 90 minutes before the game.
  • LAC Wide Receiver #15
McConkey was held out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday but returned for a limited session on Friday. He played through the hip issue last week, though he also practiced in all three sessions before doing so. He caught five of seven targets for 46 yards versus the Cardinals. Despite the light workload in practice, McConkey should manage to suit up this week, keeping him in the WR3 ranks barring a setback.
  • LAC Wide Receiver #1
Johnston suffered an ankle injury in Week 6 and has yet to return to practice. He won’t play through the doubtful tag this week. Ladd McConkey should suit up despite being listed as questionable with a hip injury. Assuming he does, Ladd will operate as the Chargers’ top receiver and will sit in the WR3 ranks for Week 8.
  • SF Wide Receiver #1
Samuel barely played in Week 7 and was hospitalized for pneumonia shortly after the game. He was released from the hospital a few days later and miraculously returned to practice on Thursday. Samuel appears to be on track to play this week, though the 49ers will likely take things down to the wire. If he’s ruled out, rookie wideout Jacob Cowing would likely step into a starting role, making him the backup option for fantasy managers counting on Deebo this week.
  • SF Tight End #85
Kittle missed Wednesday’s practice but returned to practice on Thursday for a limited session. He was presumably limited on Friday as well. Kittle will likely play through the foot injury as he tends to do in these situations. If active, Kittle, who is currently fantasy’s TE2 overall, will remain a top-five option at his position.
  • MIN Tight End #87
Hockenson will make his 2024 debut versus the Colts in Week 9. He missed the first two months of the season while recovering from the torn ACL and MCL he suffered last year. Coming off a Thursday night loss to the Rams, their second defeat in as many weeks, Hockenson’s return will hopefully spark a rebound from the Minnesota offense. Hockenson averaged 6.3 receptions for 64 yards and scored five touchdowns in 15 games last year. He will immediately jump into the TE1 ranks in Week 9.
  • GB Wide Receiver #11
Reed’s ankle injury is just one of many that he has played through this year. His production has been absurdly volatile this season. The second-year wideout has two games over 140 yards from scrimmage and three games under 50 yards with four total touchdowns. Pressed for targets in a stacked receiver room, Reed enters Week 8 as a volatile WR3.
  • GB Wide Receiver #9
Watson was upgraded to a full participant in Friday’s practice before being removed from the injury report. He is splitting the No. 3 receiver role with Dontayvion Wicks, making both players hard to trust for fantasy purposes. Watson went for 68 yards and a touchdown two weeks ago but cratered to nine scoreless yards last week. He enters Week 8 as a boom/bust WR4.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #10
It’s a nightmare turn of events for Dolphins fans and fantasy managers alike. Hill was added to the injury report midweek as a limited participant on Thursday. He was then downgraded to a DNP on Friday before drawing the questionable tag. While Hill has pushed through various injuries over the years, this is a situation fantasy managers will need to monitor closely. If he is unable to suit up this week, Jaylen Waddle will serve as Miami’s No. 1 receiver in Tua Tagovailoa’s first game back from injured reserve.
