Sam LaPorta caught all four targets for 53 yards in the Lions’ Week 4 win over the Seahawks.

The four targets were nice considering quarterback Jared Goff attempted just 18 passes but LaPorta was held out of the end zone on a night the team scored six touchdowns. LaPorta has had a string of difficult schematic matchups considering his acumen against man coverage and relative shortcomings against zone through his first season-plus of play, which carries forward into a Week 6 matchup with the Cowboys after the team heads to their bye week in Week 5.
Jameson Williams

DET Wide Receiver #9

Jameson Williams caught both targets for 80 yards and a touchdown in the Lions’ Week 4 win over the Seahawks.

Williams had just one catch until he flashed across the field on a deep crosser and waltzed down the sideline for a 70-yard score in the fourth quarter. 54 of his 80 yards came after the catch on that touchdown reception while the two targets were a product of only 18 pass attempts from quarterback Jared Goff in a game the Lions controlled throughout. Detroit heads to their bye in Week 5 before traveling to Dallas to face the Cowboys in Week 6.
David Montgomery

DET Running Back #5

David Montgomery rushed 12 times for 40 yards and a touchdown in the Lions’ Week 4 win over the Seahawks, adding 40 yards on his lone reception.

The catch was arguably the top play of the season through four weeks as Montgomery shed a massive tackle in the middle of the field before breaking three more tackles on his way to a high-step down the sideline and huge gain. He scored his touchdown in the first quarter to get his team on the board before sharing work with fellow running back Jahmyr Gibbs the rest of the way. Montgomery continues to be a weekly RB2 with RB1 upside in fantasy circles, even in the split backfield, due to sheer volume, a tangible red zone role, and the efficiency of the offense. Montgomery and the Lions head to their bye in Week 5 before traveling to Dallas to face the Cowboys in Week 6.
Jahmyr Gibbs

DET Running Back #26

Jahmyr Gibbs rushed 14 times for 78 yards and two touchdowns in the Lions’ Week 4 win over the Seahawks.

Gibbs was not targeted on the evening while fellow running back David Montgomery saw just one target, largely due to the positive game script throughout. The Lions emerged victorious in the highest-scoring game of the season through the first month of play and climb to 3-1 before heading to their bye week in Week 5. The next time Gibbs takes the field will come in Week 6 against the Cowboys on the road.
Amon-Ra St. Brown

DET Wide Receiver #14

Amon-Ra St. Brown caught all six targets for 45 yards and a touchdown in the Lions’ Week 4 win over the Seahawks, adding seven pass yards and a passing touchdown.

St. Brown took a pitch on an end around and hit quarterback Jared Goff down the sideline for a seven-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter. He would catch a touchdown pass from eight yards out in the fourth quarter to pad his counting stats further. Although the six targets appears light on the surface, Goff attempted just 18 passes on a night the Lions controlled the flow of the game throughout. The Lions head to their bye in Week 5 before traveling to Jerry World to face the Cowboys in Week 6.
Jared Goff

DET Quarterback #16

Jared Goff completed all 18 passes for 292 yards and two touchdowns in the Lions’ 42-29, Week 4 win over the Seahawks.

Goff set an NFL record for most completions without an incompletion in the win. He also caught a touchdown pass from wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, making him the third player in Lions history to throw a touchdown, run for a touchdown, and catch a touchdown. In typical Lions fashion, the team attempted 28 runs to just 18 passes in a game they controlled throughout, with running back Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery accounting for three scores on the ground between them. Either way, it was an impressive showing for the veteran signal caller as the team climbs to 3-1 before their bye week in Week 5.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba

SEA Wide Receiver #11

Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught 8-of-12 targets for 51 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 4 loss to the Lions.

Smith-Njigba reverted to a more short-area role in Week 4, likely induced by the aggressive pass rush of Aidan Hutchinson and the Lions. Even so, the 12 targets were the second time in four games that Smith-Njigba has seen double-digit looks after failing to do so in his rookie season. The fantasy needle certainly seems to be pointing up for the talented youngster and he has a solid chance to repeat his successes on the field when the Seahawks host the Giants in Week 5.
DK Metcalf

SEA Wide Receiver #14

DK Metcalf caught 7-of-12 targets for 104 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 4 loss to the Lions.

Metcalf saw a lot of Lions top corner Carlton Davis as the two tangled on the perimeter throughout. Even so, Metcalf was able to surpass 100 yards through the air for the third consecutive game as his team fell to 3-1 in the highest scoring game of the season through four weeks. Metcalf has a solid chance of breaking 100 yards again in Week 5 when the Seahawks host the Giants.
Kenneth Walker III

SEA Running Back #9

Kenneth Walker rushed 12 times for 80 yards and three touchdowns in the Seahawks’ Week 4 loss to the Lions, adding 36 yards on four receptions.

Walker made the most of his handful of carries, scoring from one yard twice before a gorgeous 21-yard touchdown scamper in the fourth quarter. The Seahawks struggled to run the football for most of the night against the stout defensive front of the Lions but Walker managed to finally break through in the fourth quarter for multiple chunk yardage gains. The career night was not enough to salvage a victory as the Seahawks never held a lead, eventually falling for their first loss of the season. Up next for Walker and the Seahawks is the Giants at home in Week 5.
Geno Smith

SEA Quarterback #7

Geno Smith completed 38-of-56 passes for 395 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Seahawks’ 42-29, Week 4 loss to the Lions, adding 38 yards on five carries.

Smith and the Seahawks fell short of the Lions for their first loss of the season in what was the highest-scoring game of the season through a month of play. His 56 pass attempts and 38 completions were both career highs, while he managed just one touchdown toss as running back Kenneth Walker found paint three times on the ground. 32 of his 56 pass attempts were directed at his starting wide receiver trio of DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba although his only touchdown pass went to rookie tight end AJ Barner. The Seahawks have little time to lick their wounds as Monday night’s loss was their first of three games within an 11 day window, with the Giants up next at home in Week 5.
