  • JAX Quarterback #16
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
Lawrence’s injury is to his non-throwing shoulder but the Jaguars’ signal-caller is still receiving treatment and continues to “weigh options for the future,” per Rapoport. It sounds like Lawrence could be looking at an extended absence, although nothing is definite at this time. Mac Jones will get the nod in Week 10 if Lawrence doesn’t play. It would be Jones’ first start since Week 12 of last season.
  • CAR Running Back #30
Hubbard has served as the Panthers’ bell cow back for most of this season. The fourth-year back has racked up 773 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns in his first nine games and is averaging 17.7 opportunities per game — a career-high. The Panthers’ decision to re-up with Hubbard while rookie second rounder Jonathon Brooks lies in wait is a curious one, but it’s safe to assume both backs will see plenty of work in the coming years. Hubbard’s deal includes $15 million in guaranteed money and he can earn up to $37.2 million with added incentives.
  • DAL Quarterback #4
Slater also reports that her sources told her “it typically takes more than a 4 week recovery. In some cases, they let it scar over, repair and then strengthen. With that being said, Prescott is seeking other opinions which is why there is currently a reluctance to place him on IR or make any determinations about a timeline for return.” An avulsion injury is far more serious than a typical strain. Fantasy managers should prudently move on from Prescott at this time.
  • PHI Wide Receiver #6
Smith wasn’t present for Wednesday’s walkthrough. We will get more info on the situation tomorrow, but it’s a concerning start to the week for the star receiver. Smith didn’t appear limited by the hamstring injury on Sunday when he reeled in one of the most impressive toe-drag touchdowns you’ll ever see. He finished the day with four grabs for 87 yards and one score. If Smith can’t suit up this week, a returning Dallas Goedert will operate as Jalen Hurts’ No. 2 pass-catcher.
  • KC Quarterback #15
Mahomes came up limping late in the Chiefs’ Week 9 win over the Bucs. He had quietly been dealing with an ankle injury before the game and aggravated it while scrambling. Mahomes finished the game without any issues, securing an overtime victory in the process. A full practice to open the week indicates it genuinely is a minor injury at most. Coming off his best fantasy performance of the season, Mahomes is climbing the QB2 ranks for Week 10.
  • BAL Tight End #80
Likely did not practice once this week before being ruled out. The good news is that he gets the mini-bye following Baltimore’s Thursday Night Football matchup with Cincinnati. Mark Andrews will approach a full-time role tomorrow after spending most of this season in a rotation with Likely and Charlie Kolar. A decrease in 12-personnel sets should also get Diontae Johnson on the field more.
  • BAL Quarterback #8
Jackson missed two practices with a back injury last week. John Harbaugh called it rest and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport later reported that rest days would be built into his practice regimen going forward. His DNP yesterday was no different. Eying up a potential shootout with the Bengals, Jackson will continue his MVP campaign as Week 10’s QB1 overall.
  • CIN Wide Receiver #5
Higgins did not practice this week and is set to miss Cincinnati’s second matchup with the Ravens. It will be his third game sidelined because of the quad injury. Mike Gesicki has operated as the Bengals’ de facto No. 2 receiver in his absence. The veteran tight end caught five passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns last week. He will remain in the TE1 ranks for a potential shootout with Baltimore. Andrei Iosivas is running plenty of routes sans Higgins but is nothing more than a touchdown-or-bust WR5.
  • CAR Running Back #24
Today was the Panthers’ final day to bring him off the NFI list. He practiced in full last week and was a full-go today as well. All signs point toward the rookie making his NFL debut in Week 10 versus the Giants, though don’t have to make him active if they think he needs more time to recover. Fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach with this backfield. In his first game off the ACL tear he suffered in college, Brooks will almost certainly play a backup role to Chuba Hubbard. Brooks will spend a week in the RB5 ranks while Hubbard is no longer a locked-in RB2.
  • CAR Quarterback #9
Young took over for an injured Andy Dalton two weeks ago and has fared better in his second stint as the Panthers’ starting quarterback this season. He has three touchdowns with as many interceptions and got his first win of the year with an upset over the Saints on Sunday. Dalton may still be the better starter in a vacuum, but Young has done enough to get a third nod in a row as the Panthers wade through the second half of yet another lost season. Fantasy managers can ignore Young as a streaming option versus the Giants this week.
