Rafael Devers homered for the sixth consecutive game on Monday, powering the Red Sox to a 5-0 victory over the Rays.

Devers set a franchise record by homering for the sixth consecutive contest when he took Rays starter Taj Bradley deep for a two-run homer to left field in the fourth inning. It was his 10th round-tripper of the season. The 27-year-old fantasy stalwart got off to a frosty start at the dish this season as he dealt with lingering shoulder and knee issues, but he’s certainly heated up lately with arguably the hottest stretch of his career, batting .286 (20-for-70) with seven homers in 18 contests since the start of May.

Ceddanne Rafaela belted a two-run homer on Monday in the Red Sox’ win over the Rays.

Rafaela took Rays starter Taj Bradley deep for a two-run shot -- his fifth long ball of the season -- in the fifth inning to give Boston a commanding five-run lead at the time. It was his second round-tripper in his last six contests. The 23-year-old rookie doesn’t offer a ton of over-the-fence pop, but he’s easily going to reach double-digit homers and steals in his full-season debut.

Tanner Houck fired seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the Rays.

Houck authored another brilliant performance, scattering just two hits and one walk over seven nearly-flawless frames. He finished with five strikeouts and allowed just six batted balls with an exit velocity over 92 mph in this one. He’ll carry a sparkling 1.94 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 62/12 K/BB ratio across 65 innings (10 starts) into a home tilt on Sunday against the Brewers. The 27-year-old righty has been an unexpected revelation this season for fantasy managers, allowing three earned runs or fewer in nine of his 10 starts so far.

Garrett Whitlock has UCL damage in his elbow and will receive a second opinion later this week.

Unfortunate, but it did seem like was coming. Assuming that Whitlock has surgery, he’ll almost certainly miss the rest of the season, and his return next year might come as a reliever.

Vaughn Grissom is not in the Red Sox lineup on Monday.

David Hamilton will play second base with Ceddanne Rafaela at shortstop. Grissom is off to a rough start to the year, but he’s played in just 13 games after losing 14 pounds while battling the flu. He has just a 20.8 percent strikeout rate and 11 hard-hit baseballs in 13 games but a .171 BABIP. It may take him a while to shake the rust and feel back to full strength, but he’ll be just fine.
Nick Pivetta

BOS Starting Pitcher #37

Nick Pivetta limited the Cardinals to one run and one hit over six innings in Boston’s 11-3 win Sunday.

The one hit was a 441-foot homer from Lars Nootbaar, but Pivetta retired every other batter he faced, striking out eight of them. He struggled in his first start back from the IL, but he has a 3.04 ERA and a 30/2 K/BB ratio through five outings this year. He’ll get the Brewers next.

Rafael Devers homered in a fifth straight game Sunday against the Cardinals.

He took Ryan Fernandez deep in the sixth inning today. Devers had four homers in 31 games this season before this stretch. He’s also now working on a nine-game hitting streak, though he’s totaled just 11 hits in that span. His average is actually lower now (.285) than it was two weeks ago. His .555 slugging percentage is vastly improved, though.
Tyler O'Neill

BOS Right Fielder #17

Tyler O’Neill went 2-for-3 with a homer, two walks and three runs scored Sunday against the Cardinals.

O’Neill went 4-for-12 in his first series against his former team. The homer today was a solo shot, as nine of his 11 have been. He’s just 4-for-27 this season with RISP, which is how he’s totaled only 17 RBI to go along with the 11 homers in 37 games.

Wilyer Abreu is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals.

Abreu will sit again with southpaw Matthew Liberatore on the mound for the Cardinals. Rob Refsnyder will be the starting right fielder and hit second while Abreu retreats to the bench.

Rafael Devers hit a solo homer in a loss to the Cardinals on Saturday.

That’s the fourth-consecutive game that Devers has gone deep. The 27-year-old now has eight homers and 19 RBI on the season, and fantasy managers have to be thrilled to see the third baseman driving the baseball over the fence as of late. Obvious point could be obvious.
