AJ Dybantsa

WAS Forward #4

Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players

In his second career game, AJ Dybantsa had 17 points (5-of-11 FGs, 6-of-7 FTs), eight rebounds, an assist, two steals and a three in Friday’s win over the Hornets.

AJ has made an effort to work on his defense and his off-ball ability, and it has paid off in a big way. He hasn’t been nearly as ball dominant as he was in college, and the shot looks much better than it was at BYU. He’s already the third best player on the team and he will continue to climb up the hierarchy. Outside of Trae, AD, and AJ tonight, it was pretty rough from the Wizards tonight despite the win.
Anthony Davis

WAS Forward-Center #23

Anthony Davis had himself a night with 25 points (8-of-18 FGs, 9-of-10 FTs), 13 rebounds, one assist, one steal and a block in Friday’s win over the Hornets.

Anthony Davis has imposed his will on the Hornets centers in this game, and they couldn’t do much to stop him. The defense on the big men was good, and he got to the line frequently. It was another great performance from AD and his value should be stable barring injury. The Wizards are winning and he’s a big reason for that. If you’re worried about the injuries, it might be worth exploring the market, but it’s also likely everyone else is just as scared about him.
Trae Young

WAS Guard #3

Trae Young had 21 points (4-of-9 FGs, 12-of-14 FTs), seven rebounds, nine assists, two steals, a block, a three, and four turnovers in a 95-79 win over the Hornets.

Trae was leading the league in assists in this game, and he’s done a good job orchestrating the offense and leading the Wizards to a better record than expectations to start the season. He got to the line and hit most of his free throws and was efficient tonight. The inefficiency balanced out in this one and the Wizards were able to come out with a win. Don’t expect that many rebounds but its been a good year for the league assist leader.
Tre Johnson

WAS Guard #12

Tre Johnson (Achilles) will play on Friday against the Charlotte Hornets.

Tre Johnson missed last game against the Cavaliers due to Achilles soreness during warmups. He should go right back into his role as a bench scorer with Middleton taking a smaller role.
Tre Johnson

WAS Guard #12

Tre Johnson (Achilles) is a game-time decision for Friday’s game against the Hornets.

Johnson did not play in Wednesday’s loss to the Cavaliers, which factored into Bilal Coulibaly playing 27 minutes. If Johnson remains out, Coulibaly’s playing time is unlikely to decrease.
Tre Johnson

WAS Guard #12

Tre Johnson (Achilles) is questionable to play against the Hornets on Friday.

Johnson missed Wednesday’s game against the Cavaliers, but there is a chance he returns to take on Charlotte. With AJ Dybantsa making his debut, Bilal Coulibaly played 27 minutes off the bench. If Johnson is back, Coulibaly will likely take on a smaller role.
Kyshawn George

WAS Forward #18

Kyshawn George played 38 minutes in Wednesday’s loss to the Cavaliers, finishing with eight points (4-of-10 FGs), two rebounds, 11 assists and one block.

For the first time in five games this season, George failed to score in double figures. However, he accomplished a career first, hitting double digits in assists. George, who did not commit a turnover in his 38 minutes, totaled 13 assists in Washington’s first four games. The Wizards play one more game in Week 2, on Friday when they host Charlotte on the opening night of NBA Cup group play.
Anthony Davis

WAS Forward-Center #23

Anthony Davis tallied 18 points (8-of-18 FGs), five rebounds, three assists, one steal, two blocks and two three-pointers in Wednesday’s loss to the Cavaliers.

After shooting 50 percent from the field and scoring 29 points in Monday’s loss to the Hornets, Davis cooled off a bit on Wednesday. Of course, it was a challenging matchup, as the Cavaliers could send either Evan Mobley or Jarrett Allen at Davis for most of the night. AD finished with a complete stat line, but it was surprising that he didn’t attempt a single free throw in 34 minutes of play.
Trae Young

WAS Guard #3

Trae Young recorded 14 points (3-of-12 FGs, 7-of-7 FTs), five rebounds, eight assists and one three-pointer in Wednesday’s loss to the Cavaliers.

Young, who entered Wednesday shooting 41 percent from the field over four games, struggled with his shot against the Cavaliers. The good news for fantasy managers is that he kept the turnovers in check and posted solid rebound and assist numbers, but it would be nice to see Young snap out of his early-season funk.
Alex Sarr

WAS Center #20

Alex Sarr finished Wednesday’s loss to the Cavaliers with 18 points (7-of-11 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), four rebounds, two assists, four steals, one block and two three-pointers.

While Sarr entered Wednesday shooting 53.8 percent from the field, it’s taken a little time for him to find his footing offensively. Wednesday was a step in the right direction for the 7-footer, who finished with season highs in points and field-goal attempts. Add in the defensive contributions, and fantasy managers rostering Sarr should be pleased. He played 26 minutes against the Cavaliers, the second straight game that he’s done so.
