This will be a fourth straight absence for Waters, though his status doesn’t have an impact on the Spurs’ rotation. His continued absence won’t impact the Spurs’ minutes allocation.

Devin Vassell accumulated 17 points (7-of-15 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, six assists, one block and one three-pointer in Saturday’s win over the Mavericks.

In the first six games he played afer returning from a strained adductor, Vassell averaged 10.7 points on 40.6 percent shooting from the field. Saturday’s performance was his best since the injury, with the Spurs’ wing also providing solid value in the rebound and assist categories. San Antonio’s Week 17 starts with games on Tuesday and Wednesday, so Vassell managers may only get three games out of him instead of four.
Victor Wembanyama

Victor Wembanyama amassed 16 points (6-of-14 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), 11 rebounds, three blocks and one three-pointer in Saturday’s win over the Mavericks.

While he took a back seat to Stephon Castle on Saturday, Wembanyama was still impactful on both ends of the floor. The three blocks don’t do the third-year center justice, as there were other occasions when Mavericks players passed up shots because of Wemby’s presence. With Saturday’s game not being as close as the 138-125 final score would indicate, the Spurs only needed to play Wembanyama 27 minutes.

Stephon Castle finished Saturday’s win over the Mavericks with 40 points (15-of-19 FGs, 7-of-10 FTs), 12 rebounds, 12 assists, three steals, one block and three three-pointers.

The second meeting in three days between the Mavericks and Spurs was dominated by Castle, who made some history. The second-year guard became the first player in franchise history to record a 40-point triple-double with points, rebounds and assists. Castle joins David Robinson as Spurs players with a 40-point triple-double; The Admiral recorded his with points, rebounds and blocks. While Castle recorded six turnovers, their impact was muted by his all-around production. The Spurs play four games in Week 17, starting with a Tuesday/Wednesday back-to-back before the All-Star break.

Sochan has missed the last five games with a quad injury. While it’s good news that he’s back, the 22-year-old small forward wasn’t in the Spurs rotation prior to his injury. He’s not worth rostering in most fantasy leagues this year.

Luke Kornet (adductor, ankle) is available for Saturday’s game against the Mavericks.

Kornet is back after a one-game absence with adductor and ankle injuries. While the Spurs decided to go small when Victor Wembanyama was sitting in their last game, expect Kornet to resume his role as the backup center on Saturday. That’s not a role that necessitates him being rostered in most fantasy leagues, however.

De’Aaron Fox (back) is available for Saturday’s game against the Mavericks.

Fox is available after being listed as questionable with back soreness. The 28-year-old point guard has had a double-double in his last two games including Thursday, which was also against the Mavericks. He’ll look to extend his streak to three on Saturday as the Spurs close out Week 16.

Jeremy Sochan (quad) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Mavericks.

Sochan has missed San Antonio’s last five games. However, he was not in the rotation before the injury, so the former lottery pick’s availability does not affect fantasy basketball.

Luke Kornet (adductor, ankle) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Mavericks.

Kornet’s absence on Thursday did not result in Kelly Olynyk returning to the rotation, as he picked up a DNP-CD. The Spurs went small when Victor Wembanyama wasn’t on the floor, with Carter Bryant logging 18 minutes off the bench. Regardless of what happens with Kornet for Saturday’s game, Bryant should only be rostered in dynasty leagues.
De'Aaron Fox

De’Aaron Fox (back) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Mavericks.

Fox is uncertain to play on Saturday due to back soreness. He most recently served the Mavericks with a double-double in the Spurs’ win on Thursday, which was his second consecutive. Fox will have a chance to extend his streak to three straight double-doubles on Saturday if he’s able to play. If unavailable, Dylan Harper or Jordan McLaughlin could realistically slot into the starting unit.
