Champagnie, who has starting for the injured Devin Vassell, is dealing with mid-back soreness. If he’s unable to play on Saturday, the Spurs could potentially turn to Dylan Harper to fill the void. Champagnie’s availability may also affect Carter Bryant, who is considered questionable due to a G League assignment.

Still under a minutes restriction, Wembanyama played 26 minutes off the bench on Wednesday. However, as was proven most recently in Tuesday’s loss to the Grizzlies, he doesn’t need to be on the court long to impact fantasy basketball. Wemby’s final stat line only lacked a three-pointer, and the four blocks were one more than the phenom’s total in prior three appearances. The Spurs hit the road for their next three games, including a back-to-back on Saturday/Sunday against the Celtics and Timberwolves.

Stephon Castle accounted for 15 points (6-of-10 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), five rebounds, four assists, two steals and one blocked shot in Wednesday’s win over the Lakers.

In addition to filling up his stat line, Castle kept the turnovers in check, recording just two in the win over the Lakers. Also crucial to fantasy managers were the second-year guard’s percentages, as he made 60 percent of his field-goal attempts and did not miss a free throw. Castle missed both of his three-point attempts, but that area may come along slowly due to the responsibilities on his plate. In addition to initiating offense, he’s being asked to take on San Antonio’s most challenging perimeter matchup on defense. That’s a lot to ask of a young player, but that hasn’t prohibited Castle from establishing himself as a key player in the Spurs’ rotation.

Keldon Johnson finished Wednesday’s win over the Lakers with 27 points (11-of-13 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), six rebounds and two three-pointers.

While his category league value is limited due to lackluster defensive production, Johnson is capable of coming through with the occasional big scoring night. The 27 points he scored against the Lakers were the most in a game for the Spurs forward since December 27, when he hit that number in a loss to the Jazz. Even with Johnson averaging 15.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, he has only offered 12th-round value in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks.

Despite being listed as questionable earlier in the day, Wembanyama will play on the second night of a back-to-back against Los Angeles. The superstar center scored 30 points off the bench on Tuesday in a one-point loss to the Grizzlies, and will have a chance to log a third straight 30-point game on Wednesday against a Lakers team that’s won three straight games.

Wemby is dealing with a left knee bone bruise and is in danger of sitting out against Los Angeles. If he’s sidelined, Luke Kornet could see a bump in playing time and remain the Spurs’ starting center.

Wembanyama was a force inside the paint and also knocked down 3-of-6 from three-point range in his return to San Antonio’s lineup following a brief two-game absence due to left knee soreness. The 22-year-old generational talent came off the bench in this one and fantasy managers should anticipate the Spurs putting a governor on his workload as he continues to deal with lingering physical issues. The limited opportunities haven’t prevented him from making a significant fantasy impact of late as he’s averaging an absurd 27.6 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.6 steals and 1.8 blocks in five games over the past two weeks.

Julian Champagnie recorded 23 points (7-of-11 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), eight rebounds, two assists and three steals over 31 minutes in Tuesday’s loss to the Grizzlies.

Champagnie came out of the gate on fire, knocking down four three-pointers to finish the opening stanza with a game-high 15 points. He was relatively quiet over the final three quarters but still managed to break the 20-point barrier for the third time in his last four games. The 24-year-old guard is worthy of a speculative roster spot in all fantasy formats based on his recent production but there’s some regression looming based on his track record since he’s in the midst of an insanely hot run from a shooting standpoint.

After a two-game absence, Wembanyama has been given the all-clear to play. However, he will be under a minutes restriction and come off the bench. Luke Kornet remains the starting center, but his playing time will decrease somewhat with Wembanyama back in the fold.

Wemby has a chance to return to the court following a two-game absence, which could mean reduced roles for Luke Kornet and Kelly Olynyk. Kornet is worth holding even after Wemby returns, as the Spurs will surely be cautious with their franchise superstar’s minutes.
