Scoot Henderson produced 11 points (4-of-10 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, nine assists, one steal and two three-pointers in Friday’s win over the Grizzlies.

Henderson made his season debut on Friday and came off the bench to log 21 minutes and nearly notch a double-double. The long-awaited return came with plenty of ups and downs. Henderson shot poorly from beyond the arc but was aggressive and had enough shooting volume to score in double figures. And while he led the team in assists, he also totaled five turnovers. Henderson will need time to work off the rust, but coming out of his first game healthily is an encouraging sign.
Jrue Holiday

POR Guard #5

Jrue Holiday added 20 points (6-of-12 FGs, 7-of-7 FTs), five rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one three-pointer in the win over the Grizzlies on Friday.

Holiday was productive in his 25 minutes. He shot the ball well and made great use of the charity stripe en route to finishing as one of two Trail Blazers to score at least 20 points. Not to be forgotten, the veteran guard was one of Portland’s most impactful passers, and he’s likely to continue doing so in his current role. Holiday will have a chance to land another productive performance against the Grizzlies again on Saturday, should he be available on the second game of a back-to-back.
Jerami Grant

POR Forward #9

Jerami Grant tallied 23 points (8-of-15 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), two rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and three three-pointers in the win over the Grizzlies on Friday.

Grant got the start for the injured Deni Avdija (back) and didn’t disappoint. In 28 minutes, the veteran forward scored well both in and outside the arc, ultimately finishing as Portland’s leading scorer on the evening. Since his January return, he’s scored at least 15 points in six of his nine appearances. Grant doesn’t offer much value in other fantasy basketball categories. But for those fantasy managers in need of points and three-pointers, he’s a fine streaming option.
Shaedon Sharpe

POR Guard #17

Shaedon Sharpe (calf) will not return to Friday’s game against the Grizzlies.

Sharpe finished the second quarter of Friday’s game but did not return for the third, with the Trail Blazers eventually declaring him done for the night with a left calf injury. His early exit has led to more minutes for Sidy Cissoko and Vit Krejčí, with the latter knocking down two three-pointers and scoring 11 points.

Blake Wesley (foot) is available for Friday’s game against the Grizzlies.

Wesley is set to play after initially being questionable for Friday’s game. With Deni Avdija (back) out, there should be rotation minutes available to Wesley. Scoot Henderson (hamstring) is available to make his season debut, but he’s unlikely to log heavy minutes.

Henderson is officially available to make his first appearance of the season for the Trail Blazers after suffering a torn hamstring during the offseason. Given the time that he’s missed, the guard will likely be under a minutes restriction. Also, those who have Henderson rostered should plan for him to sit out Saturday’s game against the Grizzlies.

Deni Avdija (back) will not play against the Grzzlies on Friday.

Without the services of their top scorer, the Trail Blazers will have to depend on the services of other players in order to end their current six-game losing streak, as Friday’s absence will mark the third straight for Avdija. The first-time All-Star selection is averaging career-highs in points, rebounds, and assists this season. Jerami Grant is a candidate to continue starting in Avdija’s spot.
Blake Wesley

Blake Wesley (foot) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Grizzlies.

The Trail Blazers and Grizzlies play on Friday and Saturday, so Wesley is likely to miss one of those games for injury management reasons. His availability does not affect fantasy basketball, especially with Scoot Henderson (hamstring) set to make his season debut.

Deni Avdija (back) participated in Thursday’s practice but is not expected to play in Friday’s game against the Grizzlies.

Avdija has missed Portland’s last two games with a lower back injury that first surfaced during a January 11 loss to the Knicks. His absence on Friday would coincide with the return of Scoot Henderson, who will be available for the first time this season. While he certainly won’t log heavy minutes, Scoot can help Portland account for Avdija’s absence.

After suffering a torn left hamstring during the offseason, Henderson’s path to a full recovery has been an arduous one. He’ll make his season debut on Friday, and the point guard is likely to be under a minutes restriction. Henderson won’t affect fantasy basketball immediately, but he’s someone who could have added value after the All-Star break due to the Blazers’ need for playmakers on the perimeter.
