While Morant participated in portions of Thursday’s practice, he still has not reached the point where he can play in games. Vince Williams Jr. will continue to fill the void as the starting point guard, with Cam Spencer having added value in deep leagues despite coming off the bench.

Morant has been out for two weeks since suffering his calf strain, but appears to be inching closer to returning. There’s a chance that he could return to play against the Clippers on Friday or the Blazers on Sunday. His return would push Vince Williams Jr. back to the bench and could impact some of Zach Edey’s recent uptick in usage.

Cam Spencer provided a boost off the bench with 21 points (6-of-8 FGs), one rebound, six assists and three three-pointers in a 126-119 loss to the Spurs on Tuesday.

With all the backcourt injuries in Memphis, the 2024 second-round pick has been able to have a solid season as a reserve. With Ja Morant, Ty Jerome and Scotty Pippen Jr. all sidelined, Spencer has stepped up as a scorer as of late. 21 points were a new season high, and he has scored in double figures in six straight games. Spencer has been shooting the ball at an unsustainable rate, but he should have streaming appeal in deeper formats as long as Morant is sidelined.

Jaylen Wells lit up the Spurs with 20 points (6-of-9 FGs), one rebound, two assists and two three-pointers against the Grizzlies on Tuesday.

Wells had a rough start to the year, but he’s figured things out on offense during this five-game stretch. Over the last five games, he is averaging 19.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 3.0 triples per game while shooting 64.4 percent from the floor. This was his third 20-point outing of the season, with all of them coming during this stretch. He’s currently rostered in just 18 percent of Yahoo! leagues but should be comfortably streamed, as long as he continues to produce to this level.
Zach Edey

Zach Edey recorded a double-double on Tuesday with 19 points (8-of-12 FGs), 15 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block against the Spurs.

Edey has been on quite the tear in recent weeks. Over the last five games that Edey has completed, he is averaging 17.8 points, 16.2 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game. It took Edey a few games to get adjusted after missing the start of the year, but he’s been one of the most dominant players in fantasy basketball recently. Some of the matchups have been more favorable, but he has been able to take advantage. At this point, he’s looking like one of the steals of the year.

Landale is good to go after initially being questionable with a sore left ankle. He will occupy his usual role as Zach Edey’s backup, which is not a good spot to derive fantasy value from.

Landale is dealing with a sore left ankle. While his potential absence would not significantly impact fantasy basketball, it would leave the Grizzlies down an option in the post. His minutes would likely be absorbed by the players currently in the rotation, most notably Santi Aldama. Aldama should already be rostered in most 14-team leagues and some 12-team formats as well.

While Wells wasn’t the most active participant in the Grizzlies’ offense, attempting five shots, he has reached double figures in four straight and five of his last six games. Rostered in 18 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Wells has been a top-100 player in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. He’s shot 53.1 percent from the field during this stretch, which has boosted the wing’s value despite his lack of defensive stats.

While starting point guard Vince Williams Jr. has enjoyed some high-assist nights since filling in for the injured Ja Morant, it has been a struggle for him scoring-wise. That’s where Spencer can be of service to the Grizzlies, and he extended his double-digit scoring streak to five games on Sunday. Williams (2/2/7/1) missed all eight of his shot attempts in Sacramento, but it didn’t do much damage to the Grizzlies thanks to Spencer and five other players scoring in double figures. Spencer isn’t a must-roster player, but he’ll have some value in deep leagues.
Zach Edey

Zach Edey finished Sunday’s win over the Kings with 32 points (16-of-20 FGs, 0-of-1 FTs), 17 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Not having Domantas Sabonis available put the Kings in a tough spot when defending Edey. The second-year center was able to go wherever he wanted offensively, shooting 80 percent from the field with most of his makes coming in the restricted area. Add in the rebounds and blocked shots, and this was a great end to Week 6 for managers who have Edey rostered. Since making his season debut, the 7-foot-4 center has provided third-round value in nine-cat formats. The Grizzlies play three games in Week 7, starting with the Spurs on Tuesday.
