That’s where Anthony, acquired from Orlando as part of the Desmond Bane trade, comes into the equation. The 53rd overall pick in the 2024 draft, Spencer took on a limited role during his rookie season in Memphis. However, he did enough to earn a two-year deal that will be fully guaranteed. In 25 games, Spencer averaged 4.2 points, 1.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.8 three-pointers in 10.1 minutes. Spencer did not impact fantasy basketball on most nights, but there were occasions when he was worth streaming. Memphis’ regular season finale was one of those instances, as he went off for 23 points, seven assists and five three-pointers in a win over Dallas.

With this summer’s free agency class considered lean by many, Aldama was one of the top forwards on the board. Instead of waiting for the 2021 first-round pick to sign an offer sheet with another team, the Grizzlies have reportedly been proactive and gotten a deal done. Despite only making 16 starts, Aldama enjoyed the most productive season of his NBA career in 2024-25. In 65 games, he averaged 12.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.8 three-pointers in 25.5 minutes. While Aldama was primarily a reserve last season, Zach Edey undergoing ankle surgery earlier in June could push Santi into the starting lineup to begin the 2025-26 campaign.

The deal includes a player option in the final year of the deal in 2029-30, according to Charania. The Grizzlies have chosen to prioritize keeping Jackson this offseason as moving Desmond Bane to the Magic helped the club afford the massive new deal for the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year. Memphis wasted no time in locking up the franchise cornerstone with a new deal right as free agency opened up.

The Rockets made the official selection, but the pick that had been in the Kevin Durant trade was held by the Suns, who traded Mashack’s draft rights to the Grizzlies. Try to keep up. While not much of a perimeter shooter, the former Tennessee wing is a tenacious defender who mastered the “little things” that can make a big difference during his college career. Mashack will face a challenging battle in Memphis for a place in the team’s rotation, even with Desmond Bane being traded to the Magic.

Golden State traded up from the 59th pick to add Richard, who just won a national championship at Florida. He is a win-now prospect that should provide three-and-D value off the bench if he’s able to crack the rotation. He doesn’t do much creating, but he should be ready to fill a role for a Warriors team that will be trying to win a championship. Richard averaged 13.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.7 steals and 2.0 three-pointers per game last season.

The 6’1, 190 pound Small spent two years at East Carolina and a year at Oklahoma State before arriving in Morgantown to play for WVU during the 2024-25 campaign. Small earned All Big 12 honors and AP All-American Honorable Mention with the Mountaineers behind averages of 18.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.6 triples. Small is a three-level scorer and strong playmaker who brings intensity and energy on defense despite his diminutive stature. Small’s quality two-way play can give him plenty of opportunities at the next level. Small will provide some point guard depth behind Ja Morant and Scotty Pippen Jr., which isn’t a clear path to minutes.

Memphis and Orlando have reportedly made a significant trade, with the former bidding farewell to a key member of its core. Anthony is one of the players the Grizzlies have received in exchange for Bane, adding another point guard to the mix. And a change of scenery may be what the doctor ordered for Anthony, as the 2024-25 campaign was the worst of his NBA career to date. In 67 appearances, the 2020 first-round pick averaged 9.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.1 three-pointers in 18.4 minutes. Even when the Magic were without Jalen Suggs, Anthony was not productive enough to merit being a consistent fantasy streamer. At best, he’ll back up Ja Morant in Memphis, and the Grizzlies also have Scotty Pippen Jr. under contract for the 2025-26 season.
