Durant played more of a facilitating role in Wednesday’s victory. He was Houston’s leader in assists, which nearly led him to a double-double. One noteworthy stat was Durant’s two turnovers, making his high assist total even more significant. The two-time Finals MVP will certainly have better nights as a scorer, but he did what was required of him to help the team to a fourth consecutive win.

Reed Sheppard tallied 27 points (9-of-15 FGs), four rebounds, six assists, two steals and nine three-pointers on Wednesday in the win over the Bucks.

Sheppard had the hot hand against Milwaukee. All but one of his 15 shots were three-pointers, and he finished just one made triple away from logging 10 makes. Nevertheless, the second-year guard was one of Houston’s most productive scorers on the evening. His production has fluctuated throughout the season, but with back-to-back 20-point games, Sheppard could be entering the postseason with some momentum.

Alperen Şengün logged 25 points (9-of-13 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), eight rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block and two three-pointers in the win over the Bucks on Wednesday.

Şengün showcased his versatility in Wednesday’s victory. As a scorer, he produced at the free-throw line, inside the arc, and from deep, en route to finishing as one of the Rockets’ leading scorers. He also distributed the ball well and was disruptive on the defensive end of the floor. He’s played some good basketball down the stretch of the season, and it’s coincided with team success. Friday’s matchup against the Jazz will present Şengün with another opportunity to log big numbers.

Reed Sheppard, Amen Thompson, Kevin Durant, Jabari Smith Jr. and Alperen Şengün will start Wednesday’s game against the Bucks.

After going with a bigger starting lineup in Tuesday’s rout of the Knicks, it’s business as usual for the Rockets on Wednesday. Sheppard returns to the starting lineup, with Tari Eason heading to the bench.

Durant started the game on fire by making his first four shots and scoring 10 points in the first three minutes of the game. The 37-year-old small forward also had six rebounds and eight assists, adding two blocks on the defensive end. Durant has provided third-round per game value over the last two weeks. The Rockets have three games remaining in Week 23, with a matchup against the Bucks on Wednesday coming next.

Amen Thompson, Tari Eason, Kevin Durant, Jabari Smith Jr. and Alperen Şengün will start against the Knicks on Tuesday.

Head coach Ime Udoka said that the decision to start Eason over Reed Sheppard was based on the matchup, so Sheppard could return to start against the Bucks on Wednesday. However, Eason will get the nod for this game and will look to stay hot after averaging 15.5 points and 7.5 rebounds over his last two games.

Jabari Smith Jr. amassed 20 points (7-of-15 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and four three-pointers in Sunday’s win over the Pelicans.

Smith was unable to extend his run of double-doubles to three games, but he has scored 20 points or more in three of his last six. The Rockets forward shot 4-of-9 from beyond the arc, and the two blocks moved his total to four over the last three games. Since the All-Star break, Smith has provided sixth-round value in eight-cat formats. While there have been occasional hiccups, his production has been more consistent than it was earlier in the season.

Kevin Durant tallied 20 points (7-of-16 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), four rebounds, six assists, one steal and one three-pointer in Sunday’s win over the Pelicans.

With Alperen Şengün dominating on both ends of the floor, Durant’s 1-of-7 night from beyond the arc was not an issue. He still hit 20 points and dished out six assists, so this was not a bad night for him by any stretch of the imagination. Since the All-Star break, Durant has provided first-round value in eight-cat formats. The Rockets begin a four-game Week 23 on Tuesday against the Knicks.
Alperen Sengun

HOU Center #28

Alperen Şengün finished Sunday’s win over the Pelicans with 36 points (12-of-23 FGs, 7-of-8 FTs), 14 rebounds, seven assists, three steals, three blocks and five three-pointers.

After recording consecutive 30-point games, Şengün was limited to 14 in Friday’s win over the Grizzlies. To say he got back on track in New Orleans would be accurate, as the Rockets’ center was dominant in all phases. Şengün finished three assists shy of a triple-double, and the six defensive contributions were a great bonus for fantasy managers. The Rockets play four games in Week 23, starting on Tuesday against the Knicks, which is excellent news for those rostering Şengün.
Reed Sheppard

HOU Guard #15

Reed Sheppard posted a full line on Friday with 15 points (6-of-15 FGs), five rebounds, five assists, four steals, one block and three three-pointers against the Grizzlies.

Though Sheppard’s 28 minutes were fewer than the other starters, that was enough time for him to stuff the stat sheet. It took time, but Sheppard appears to be locked in as a starter. In that role over their last five games, he has averaged 15.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 2.6 steals, 1.0 block and 3.4 triples per game, which has led to top-20 production in nine-category leagues despite him shooting 40.3 percent from the floor during that stretch. Sheppard is a fantasy superstar, and he’s finally getting the chance to showcase what he can do.
