Nets signed Malachi Smith to a second 10-day contract.

Smith made six appearances on his first 10-day deal, averaging 6.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 19.6 minutes per game. His best performance came against the Kings on Sunday, when he contributed 18 points, four assists, three steals and three three-pointers in 29 minutes. Smith should continue to play a role off the bench for the Nets over their next five games.

Mann will be back after missing one game, which allowed Josh Minott to return to the rotation and start. Minott should be pushed back to the bench with Mann back in the lineup.

Powell will be back following a one-game absence. Jalen Wilson got the starting nod in his place but should return to playing a role off the bench with Powell back.

With Traore sidelined, fellow rookie Ben Saraf should get the starting nod at point guard. Saraf has been a solid source of points, assists and steals lately, and he should be productive in an increased role. However, he is too inefficient to be worth rostering in category leagues.

Noah Clowney (wrist) has been ruled out against the Warriors on Wednesday.

Clowney will miss a fourth straight game, which mean Ziaire Williams should be in line for another start. Williams has been solid as a starter recently, averaging 17.0 points and 1.7 steals during the last three games with Clowney out.
Tyson Etienne

Tyson Etienne recorded 18 points (6-of-10 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), one rebound, three assists, one steal and four three-pointers in Monday’s loss to the Trail Blazers.

Etienne has reached double figures in four of his last five appearances. In Monday’s blowout defeat, he established a new career-high with 18 points, shooting 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. While the recent production has been nice, there’s no reason to consider adding Etienne in any fantasy leagues. The Nets play three more games in Week 22, so there should be a few more opportunities for Etienne to play extended minutes.

Josh Minott accounted for 15 points (5-of-9 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), five rebounds, one assist, two steals and two three-pointers in Monday’s loss to the Trail Blazers.

Inserted into the Nets’ starting lineup after not playing at all in Sunday’s loss to the Kings, Minott logged a team-high 33 minutes in Portland. He shot the ball relatively well, including a 2-of-4 night from beyond the arc. While Minott has put forth some very good efforts since the All-Star break, the inconsistent opportunities make it challenging to trust him in fantasy leagues fully. Chaney Johnson played 26 minutes off the bench, finishing with 12 points, five rebounds and three assists. He’s another player who has received opportunities to contribute, but not to the extent that he should be rostered in most leagues.
Ziaire Williams

Ziaire Williams finished Monday’s loss to the Trail Blazers with 16 points (4-of-7 FGs, 7-of-7 FTs), four rebounds, one assist, two steals and one three-pointer.

Williams played 24 minutes on Monday, and he finished a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. He has started the Nets’ last three games, scoring in double figures in each. However, Williams has not played more than 25 minutes in any of those appearances, which limits his upside. There isn’t much to gain from rostering Williams at this point in the season, given the playing time.
Josh Minott

Nolan Traoré, Ziaire Williams, Jalen Wilson, Josh Minott and Nic Claxton will start Monday’s game against the Trail Blazers.

The Nets have three new starters for Monday’s game, including Claxton, who missed Sunday’s loss to the Kings. Also in the lineup are Wilson and Minott, with the latter receiving a DNP-CD in Sacramento. In addition to not having Danny Wolf (ankle), the Nets are also without Terance Mann and Drake Powell, hence the three vacancies in the starting lineup.

Brooklyn lists a whopping seven players as out tonight, as the Nets speed toward a top pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. With Mann and Powell out, more minutes should be available for Nolan Traoré, Ziaire Williams, Ben Saraf and Ochai Agbaji.
