Jonathan Kuminga finished Sunday’s win over the Trail Blazers with 20 points (7-of-10 FGs, 5-of-7 FTs), seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and one three-pointer.
While he’s only played three games in his new home, Kuminga has looked incredibly comfortable with the Hawks. He’s scored at least 17 points in all three appearances, including 20 or more in both games that he came off the bench. Kuminga scored 11 of his 20 on Sunday in the fourth quarter, helping the Hawks win the frame by a 32-16 margin. He’s rostered in 43 percent of Yahoo! leagues, with the issue in the short term being that Atlanta plays just two games in Week 19.
CJ McCollum
ATL
Guard
#3
CJ McCollum notched 19 points (6-of-13 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), two rebounds, five assists, one block and two three-pointers in Sunday’s win over the Trail Blazers.
While McCollum has averaged 17.0 points per game since moving into the Hawks’ starting lineup, he has not shot the ball well. The veteran guard is making just 39.3 percent of his attempts since the lineup change, a big reason why he has only been an 11th-round player over the past week, according to Basketball Monster. That isn’t terrible value, but fantasy managers were likely hoping for more when McCollum was moved into the starting lineup.
Onyeka Okongwu
ATL
Forward-Center
#17
Onyeka Okongwu accounted for 25 points (9-of-15 FGs), 10 rebounds, six assists, two steals, one block and seven three-pointers in Sunday’s win over the Trail Blazers.
Portland’s approach to defending Okongwu backfired spectacularly on Sunday. While he wasn’t given complete free rein to fire away from beyond the arc, the Trail Blazers could have done more to make life difficult for the 6-foot-10 center. Okongwu made seven of his 12 attempts, one shy of his season-high. The Hawks center finished with a robust overall stat line, a great way to end Week 18. Unfortunately, Atlanta’s Week 19 schedule is bad, as they only play two games.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker
ATL
Guard
#7
Nickeil Alexander-Walker (foot) is available for Sunday’s game against the Trail Blazers.
Alexander-Walker was listed as questionable with a left foot sprain after missing Thursday’s win over the Wizards, but was ruled in for Sunday’s game against the Trail Blazers. Zaccharie Risacher will likely head back to the bench with Alexander-Walker returning.
Jalen Johnson
ATL
Forward
#1
Jalen Johnson (hip) is available for Sunday’s game against the Trail Blazers.
Johnson was initially listed as questionable with a hip injury, but was ruled in for Sunday’s game against the Trail Blazers. Jonathan Kuminga might move back to the bench with Johnson returning, but should still be rostered in most formats.
Jalen Johnson
ATL
Forward
#1
Jalen Johnson (hip) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Trail Blazers.
Johnson’s absence from the Hawks’ lineup for Thursday’s win over the Wizards resulted in a start for Jonathan Kuminga, who put up 17 points and nine rebounds as part of a complete stat line. Even if Johnson returns on Sunday, Kuminga should be rostered in 12-team leagues due to what he can provide off the bench.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker
ATL
Guard
#7
Nickeil Alexander-Walker (foot) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Trail Blazers.
Alexander-Walker did not play in Thursday’s win over the Wizards, having suffered a sprained left foot. His absence led to Zaccharie Risacher returning to the starting lineup, with C.J. McCollum serving as the primary playmaker. Risacher is not worth the risk in most redraft leagues, whether he starts or comes off the bench.
Dyson Daniels
ATL
Guard
#5
Dyson Daniels stuffed the stat sheet on Thursday with 13 points (6-of-9 FGs), four rebounds, 11 assists, five steals, one block and one three-pointer against the Wizards.
Daniels did a little bit of everything in this game, including finishing with at least 10 assists for the sixth time this season. He also matched his season high for steals. His scoring is down this season, but over his last three games, he has averaged 8.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.7 assists and 2.7 steals per game. Daniels’ game is built for category leagues, and he’ll continue to provide plenty of boards, assists and steals for the rest of the year.
Corey Kispert
ATL
Forward
#24
Corey Kispert provided a boost off the bench with 33 points (11-of-19 FGs), six rebounds, one assist, one block and six three-pointers in a 126-96 win over the Wizards on Thursday.
Against his former team, Kispert got off to a scorching hot start, knocking down his first seven shots of the game. He cooled off after that, but he ended up setting a new career high for scoring in this game. Kispert was able to get revenge on the team that drafted him, but this shouldn’t change how managers view him. Leave him on the waiver wire.
CJ McCollum
ATL
Guard
#3
CJ McCollum lit up the Wizards with 25 points (9-of-19 FGs), six rebounds, three assists, one steal and two three-pointers on Thursday.
McCollum had one of his worst games as a Hawk against the Wizards on Tuesday, but he bounced back in this one. He scored 22 of his 25 points before halftime, which contributed to a second straight blowout win. McCollum has been a consistent source of offense for Atlanta, and he stepped up with Nickeil Alexander-Walker (foot) and Jalen Johnson (hip) sidelined for this ogame.
