Gueye has a sprained right shoulder, but there’s a chance that he plays anyway. However, even with Kristaps Porziņǵis (illness) unavailable, he’s unlikely to get the minutes needed to affect fantasy basketball.

Dyson Daniels (hip) is out for Tuesday’s game against the Bulls.

Daniels is dealing with right hip inflammation, so he won’t play in Tuesday’s rematch with the Bulls. Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who started when Trae Young was out, is the player most likely to replace Daniels in the lineup. He was already worth rostering in 12-team leagues.

Trae Young exploded for 35 points (10-of-15 FGs, 8-of-9 FTs), one rebound and nine assists over 26 minutes during Sunday’s loss to the Bulls.

Young showed few signs of rust in just his second game back since October 29 due to a knee injury, heating up down the home stretch of a high-scoring slugfest. He buried a clutch three-pointer with 23 seconds remaining to pull it back to a one-possession game, then had a chance to force overtime on the final shot of regulation, but his fallaway 16-footer came up short. It’s possible Atlanta will keep a governor on his workload for the next few games but he remains an elite scoring threat even in that scenario. The Hawks are back in action on Tuesday with a rematch against the Bulls before facing the Heat and Knicks to close out a three-game week.
Jalen Johnson

Jalen Johnson tallied a game-high 36 points (12-of-21 FGs, 10-of-11 FTs), 11 rebounds and nine assists over 35 minutes during Sunday’s loss to the Bulls.

Johnson buried a three-pointer in the final seconds to pull Atlanta within one point but they were unable to complete the comeback as Trae Young’s potential game-tying jumper rimmed out as time expired. The 24-year-old offensive catalyst has been one of the most impactful all-around fantasy contributors this season, delivering 23.8 points, 10.5 rebounds, 8.2 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.4 blocks through 27 games. His ascension to elite fantasy status doesn’t appear to be a mirage.

Onyeka Okongwu recorded 23 points (10-of-18 FGs), seven rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block over 39 minutes during Sunday’s loss to the Bulls.

Okongwu knocked down 7-of-9 first-half shot attempts to finish with a game-high 17 points as both teams shot over 55 percent from the floor and combined for a whopping 156 points. He was relatively quiet during the final two quarters as Jalen Johnson and Trae Young spearheaded Atlanta’s comeback effort that fell just short on the game’s final possession. The 25-year-old big man has experienced a significant uptick in minutes recently with Kristaps Porziņģis sidelined due to illness.

Trae Young (knee) is not on the injury report for Sunday’s game against the Bulls.

Young did not play in Friday’s loss to the Spurs, which was Atlanta’s second game in as many nights. His return means that Nickeil Alexander-Walker will head back to the bench, but NAW should still be rostered in 12-team leagues.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker led the Hawks with 23 points (7-of-18 FGs), two rebounds, four assists and two three-pointers in a 126-98 loss to the Spurs on Friday.

With Trae Young (knee) sidelined for the second night of Atlanta’s back-to-back, NAW slid back into the starting lineup. He was productive as a reserve on Thursday, finishing with 28 points off the bench. He kept hat going as a starter. Even with Young back, NAW will continue to provide standard-league value. He’ll continue to play plenty of minutes, even if he is coming off the bench.
Jalen Johnson

Jalen Johnson posted a solid line on Friday with 17 points (6-of-11 FGs), 11 rebounds, six assists, one steal, one three-pointer and seven turnovers against the Spurs.

24 hours after setting a new career high with 43 points, Johnson wasn’t able to keep his hot streak going. This was his ninth straight game with a double-double, but he had his fewest assists in a game since Nov. 7, and he set a new season high for turnovers. This was a subpar performance for Johnson when compared to what he’s done recently, and he’ll look to get back on track against the Bulls on Sunday.

Trae Young (knee) is out for Friday’s game against the Spurs.

No surprise here after Young returned from a knee injury and played 20 minutes against the Hornets on Thursday. The Hawks will give the 27-year-old point guard the night off for right knee injury management reasons rather than put him back on the floor for the second game of a back-to-back. Young’s next chance to play will come Sunday against the Bulls. Dyson Daniels and Jalen Johnson will have more playmaking responsibilities in his absence Friday.
