Less than a day after Jon Fitch was released from his UFC contract, the two sides resolved their differences, allowing Fitch to come back into the fold.
According to MMAWeekly.com, Fitch's representatives from American Kickboxing Academy and Zinkin Entertainment patched things up with UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta, and that all the AKA talent, including highly ranked welterweight Josh Koscheck and Cain Velasquez will remain with the company.
The initial problem stemmed from a licensing issue, in which the UFC reportedly asked its fighters to sign over lifetime likeness rights to be used in an upcoming videogame.
"Yes, the guys will be part of the video game program and the conversation with Lorenzo, they're comfortable with the situation and everybody's moving forward," Cook told MMAWeekly.com.
Fitch is now expected to be included on the Jan. 31 UFC 94 card, facing Akihiro Gono. Fitch holds a 19-3 career record and is considered by most to be the No. 3 ranked welterweight in the world behind UFC champ Georges St. Pierre and current No. 1 contender Thiago Alves.
In his last match, he lost a unanimous decision to St. Pierre at UFC 87.
