A member of the Cubs’ front office is on the move.
Sunday, the Giants hired Cubs front office executive Scott Harris as general manager.
“I am so appreciative and honored to join the San Francisco Giants, a storied franchise with a loyal, passionate and deserving fan base,” Harris said in a press release. “I’m humbled by the opportunity to help bring the next World Championship to Giants fans and to San Francisco, a city that has always held a special place in my heart.”
Harris, a Bay Area native, joined the Cubs in 2012 as director of baseball operations. He held that title through 2017 before being promoted to assistant general manager in Jan. 2018.
At 32, Harris is now the youngest general manager in MLB. He's long been viewed as a general manager prospect.
