The 2020 MLB season will include just 60 regular season games, but that won't prevent teams from being able to make trades.
There will be a trade deadline, and it's scheduled for Aug. 31, The Athletic's Jayson Stark reported Tuesday night. The trade deadline normally is in late July during a standard 162-game season.
The league hasn't officially announced trade deadline details, but it did reveal Tuesday night that the 2020 season will take place.

It's possible we don't see many trades before the deadline. Forcing players to switch teams and relocate to a new city during the COVID-19 pandemic obviously is far from ideal.
Training camps are expected to open July 1, with the regular season beginning July 23 or 24. So, teams will have a little more than a month to analyze their rosters and decide whether to become buyers or sellers at the trade deadline. The regular season will end in late September.
Each team's 60-game schedule should be completed over the next three days, per USA TODAY Sports' Bob Nightengale.
