Josh Gordon's announcement that he was stepping away from football to work on his mental health, and subsequent announcement from the NFL that he had violated the conditions of his reinstatement and would be suspended indefinitely, provoked a lot of reactions from all over the football world.
From a football aspect, the Patriots relied heavily upon Gordon, and will now be working through the rest of the season without the threat of Gordon on the outside.
From a personal aspect, Gordon has to do what is best for him, not what's best for the Patriots or their fans. Mental health is nothing to be trifled with and if Gordon must step away for his well-being, then so be it.
ESPN analyst Louis Riddick emphasized this last point in a passionate speech on "Get Up", and explained that the situation isn't as simple as some of his critics are making it out be.
Riddick blasted those who said that Gordon was blowing a huge opportunity and if they were in that spot, they would "just stop doing the dumb things that he's doing."
Riddick put an exclamation mark on his point by telling those who were ready to hop on Twitter and explain why Gordon is just being ignorant to "be very careful, because you don't know when this could happen to you."
