Banged-up Chiefs using WR at safety in practice

The Chiefs are hurting so badly in their secondary that they had wide receiver Marcus Kemp practicing at safety this week.

Safeties Eric Berry (heel)  is listed as doubtful, Eric Murray (ankle) is out and another safety, Armani Watts, is on injured reserve, so the Chiefs could be going with a shades-of-Troy Brown-look in their secondary with a receiver in their defensive backfield as they face Tom Brady and the Patriots on Sunday night at Gillette Stadium.

Kemp played safety in high school but the second-year receiver from Hawaii hasn't played there in college or the NFL.

Also, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said earlier this week that it would be "a stretch" to think outside linebacker Justin Houston (doubtful with a hamstring) would play Sunday.
