While ESPN reports that it's still unclear if Marcus Smart can play through a sprained right thumb, a Yahoo report says Smart has a torn tendon and will "be out indefinitely."
Smart injured his thumb making a diving steal in the third quarter of the 99-97 loss to the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night. It's the latest in a rash of injuries for Boston. The Celtics lost Kyrie Irving to knee soreness in the second half of that game and his status is uncertain, Daniel Theis is out for the season with a torn meniscus in his knee, Jaylen Brown is recovering from a concussion and Al Horford missed the game Sunday with an illness.
The Celtics next play Wednesday night at home against the Washington Wizards.
