Steph Curry was having a great game until the final moments of regulation on Monday night.

With the Warriors holding a 10-point lead over the Pelicans with 1:12 left in the game, Curry attempted to go for a steal on a pass from Dante Cunningham to E'Twaun Moore.

Moody, Podziemski pride themselves on not being Warriors' weak links

How Draymond roasted Steph during 52-point game vs. Grizzlies

Curry's right foot rolled over Moore's foot and the Warriors point guard fell to the floor. He got up and hobbled down the court. The Pelicans fouled Draymond Green. Curry immediately walked towards the Warriors' bench and went straight to locker room.

After the game, Curry needed crutches to go from the locker room to the X-ray room.

Curry has been diagnosed with a sprained right ankle. X-rays were negative and he will undergo an MRI on Tuesday, the Warriors confirmed.

Curry spoke the assembled media in New Orleans and addressed his injury.

"I haven't done that one in a while. Sprained my ankle. See how it feels tomorrow and kinda go from there. Obviously a sucky situation, but I'll be back," Curry said.

Curry was asked if he knew how bad it was considering his history of ankle injuries.

"All things considered, I should, knowing I've been through this before on this ankle and knowing the surgical repairs from five, six years ago are fine, I should be able to bounce back," Curry said.

A reporter asked Curry for the first thought that went through his mind when he injured his ankle.

"That I had to call my dad and tell him I can't play golf tomorrow in Charlotte...Nah, just playing," Curry joked. Then he answered the question serious. "That it was a dumb play because I tried to go for a steal. And it was bang-bang. Got caught on E'Twaun's shoe as I went by him and couldn't catch myself. Obviously, it hurt. Just wanted to get back here and get ice on it and get the rehab process start as soon as possible."

The Warriors' next game is in Curry's hometown of Charlotte on Wednesday. Curry was asked about the possibility of missing that game.

"Yeah, I always look forward to that trip, playing in that arena and playing in front of people that seen me grow up. I missed a game there before," Curry said.
