Jon Gruden expects Derek Carr to be fine after injury scare vs. Seahawks

The injuries piled up for the Raiders on Sunday in London, and none more important than an apparent injury suffered by quarterback Derek Carr late in Sunday's game against the Seahawks in London.

On a 3rd-and-11 play with just over nine minutes to go in the fourth quarter, Carr scrambled forward to try to get the first down. As he slid, he was hit by two Seahawks defenders and landed awkwardly on his left arm. He immediately grimaced and grabbed his arm.

Carr briefly went to the locker room. He re-emerged and was seen talking to Raiders head coach Jon Gruden on the sideline. Back-up quarterback AJ McCarron was seen warming up on the sideline, but the Raiders did not have another offensive snap, so neither quarterback was needed. After the Raiders quicked a field goal on the next play, the Seahawks ran out the clock on their 27-3 victory.

The Raiders did not immediately announce an injury to Carr, but after the game, Gruden said he believes Carr will be okay and that the Raiders starting quarterback argued to go back in the game if Oakland got the ball back. Gruden said he was going to go with McCarron if the Raiders had gotten another possession.

Carr was bruised and battered all day in London. He was sacked six times and hit 10 times.

The Raiders also lost wide receivers Amari Cooper and Seth Roberts to concussions.
