SCOTTSDALE -- Giants Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda remained in a Bay Area hospital on Tuesday after being rushed there Monday night. Cepeda's condition was not known, but a team official confirmed that the situation is serious.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, which first reported Cepeda's condition, the Fairfield Fire Department was dispatched to the Rancho Solano Golf Course on Monday night and transported a patient.
Cepeda, 80, spent nine seasons with the Giants and made six All-Star teams before winning the MVP award with the Cardinals in 1967. He had 2,351 hits and 379 homers in the big leagues and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1999.

Cepeda has been a regular at Giants games in recent years, often sitting in the back of the press box and chatting with reporters. News of the hospitalization spread through camp on Tuesday morning.
"Our prayers are with him," manager Bruce Bochy said.
