The Trayce Thompson Era in Oakland is over. We'll remember it fondly.
Just 12 days after being claimed by the A's, the outfielder was designated for assignment in a series of roster moves announced by the team on Tuesday afternoon.
The A's recalled right-handed pitcher Trevor Cahill, who will start Tuesday night against the White Sox. Reliever Lou Trivino was also recalled from Triple-A Nashville to replace Yusmeiro Petit, who was placed on the family medical emergency list.

Trayce, the younger brother of Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson, began the season with the Dodgers. He was designated for assignment by Los Angeles on March 27 and claimed by the Yankees. But he never even played for the Yankees before they waived him on April 5.
Thompson appeared in just three games for the A's. He made one start and finished he's brief Oakland career 1-for-7.
The highlight of Thompson's time with the A's was a spectacular leaping catch to rob former Dodgers teammate Yasiel Puig of a home run on April 11. The catch was so incredible, Klay posted a video going crazy on Instagram.
