49ers general manager John Lynch is a big sports fan.
Not only was he a nine-time Pro Bowl safety, but he was selected in the second round of the 1992 MLB draft.
And on Tuesday night, he and a couple 49ers coaches went to Game 2 of the Warriors-Pelicans series at Oracle Arena.

On Wednesday morning, Lynch was a guest on 95.7 The Game and was asked the following question:
Dan Dibley: "You see it as a fan and obviously as a sports executive you're looking for ways to apply it to your business model. What do you see in their (the Warriors) greatness and how they do things from a front office standpoint than can apply to what you're trying to do down in Santa Clara?
Lynch: "When you're in this business you kind of become sick like that, so instead of just going and enjoying a basketball game, you're essentially scouting. A couple observations last night -- we talk a lot about length and profile in the NFL and a lot of that I think came from basketball. We talk a lot about trying to shrink the field and that's what guys with great length do and the Warriors have that all over the court. That's one thing you notice.
"The other thing is -- it's not just about drafting them, it's about developing them. I'm watching the guy, I don't even know his first name, but Looney over there -- he was a draft choice a couple years ago but the guy has become a heck of a player, man. He's in there in valuable minutes in the fourth quarter.
